May be, may be not. It's a risk either way ie You could pull the trigger now and see a bit more discount in a week or so or you could hold back and in a few weeks time wish you'd jumped.

I was right where you are mate. I called into Argos on Monday and they had the iPad on display. I have to admit I originally thought these things were a waste of time. However, after 15 minutes playing with the iPad I was blown away by how fluid the screen is to touch. It's simply brilliant.

still cheaper at http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/apple-ipad-wi-fi-16gb-for-399-41-37/808480 but heat added for a decent alternative that is in immediate stock.

Also you can get it for £386.10 (same price) through bestbuy and 10% cashback

EDIT: actually slightly more than that at BestBuy as cashback of 10% is not on the value including VAT

I was about to say that at least this one is from a more reputable dealer until I noticed it's from Argos on eBay. Maybe I'm being a retail snob, but I think I'd still prefer to buy from the store direct.

It's a significant saving though, so good deal!

I swear i read somewhere that these are going to be reduced soon.

Definitely a retail snob ;-) IMO anyway.
All the companies mentioned in this thread are major retailers.

I assume you are referring to my cheaper deal on all ipads from Viking direct. So you don't think Viking are reputable!

"Viking Direct is the UK’s largest office supplies retailer to small and mid-sized businesses, offering access to over 12,000 office products at low prices, exclusive website offers and deals, and access to our end-of-line clearance centre. Who are we? Viking Direct was founded in the USA in the 1960’s, and retails office stationery and supplies to businesses across the UK, Europe, and the world. We are part of Office Depot, the largest office supplies company in the world, which operates in 22 countries and employs 50,000 worldwide. We are also the third biggest global retailer on the Internet

Still don't think they are reputable?

was mentioned that orange/Tmobile will sell them with mobile BB contract and will be around £200 but you will be tied to a contract (most likely the 24 month one)

Order from Viking (see todays hottest deal) and returns are free if you change your mind, or you can go for here and pay more if you want it a few days sooner.

Looking at the feedback that the Argos ebay account has left for others is quite amusing. Seems at the start some of the deals were done face to face with one little Joe in charge of everything! :)

Hold on guys n gals, before Santa pops down yer chomney the Ipad will be tumbling in price.
Expect to pay close to £300 for one.

BRILLIANT! Can you tell us where you got this info and where we will be able to purchase for that price?

I doubt it. With sales strong and demand constant apple have no need to make things cheaper for Christmas when demand is at it's highest. It's been reported on website that demand for ipads is increasing with the run up to Christmas! - prices won't be lowered.
#40
As I've said over on David's thread, if you're waiting for the release of the iPad2 next year, yes it will have more 'Bells & Whistles' but you're gonna have to pay for those Bells & Whistles and VAT will be increased to 20% on 4th January 2011 so even this current iPad will go UP in price!
