Amazing that yesterdays cutting edge technology is todays fire sale...and that is literal not a metaphor.
Feel for anyone who bought one at full price this week.

considering the recent media frenzy of the imminently expected Ipad 2 release, anyone who bought one last week should have their heads looking at.......

I want one and i dont know why!

First off heat added as they is certainly the best deal.

Id personally rather wait for the ipad 2. (Especially for the graphics and processing power). This price should have been the original cost. Then they would out sold any other manufacturing tablet.

Id personally rather give the ipad 2 a miss although the back to the future game has tempted me..... especially when its still NO where to be seen on the PS3 network :0( ...... grump-a-lump....

Excellent price for this I'm not bothered about FaceTime on the new one as I have an iPhone 4 for that so I think I might purchase this great deal

I thought the same until I owned one. Takes a lot the strain out of my laptop. I am using it now at work!
#15
Sooo tempting but will I actually use it or will it gather dust like everything else I own?

Because it looks amazing and that is Apple's great advertising and design.
I would never buy something like the iPad on its first incarnation, you just know there will be a better, stronger, faster, thinner one coming out in the next year....

Didn't it do this anyway?

I have absolutely no need for one of these at all.
I have a laptop that I love.
An iPod touch that is very handy.
A PSP go that is superb for portable gaming, and has all my music on an SD card.
My wife has an iPhone.

I don't need one at all.

So why do I bloody want one so badly?!?!?!?!

Can I connect this to my PC and add movies, music and files onto it?

I've got news for you, they did. By a country mile.

...and how can you get Comet to price-match on-line?
Their online price is still £439, so I don't know how you can get the £329 price-match price AND apply the discount code AND get quidco.
#22
I've never been an apple fanboy before, quite the opposite - but it's hard to resist getting swept along by the hot deals on the 16GB ipad. Suddenly it's costs only netbook money. Still expensive IMHO but heading towards realistic. As someone who's never delved into what the ipad can do, can someone tell me whether 1) will it play *ahem* downloaded 720p HD avi movie/tv show files and 2) I find magazine pdf files uncomfortable to read on a netbook, how does the ipad handle them?

Incorrect. They currently dominate just 75% of the market and this is falling continuously. Know your facts sheepboy.

Quick typing and less thinking.... sorry I meant they would have sold many more units, especially more to the anti apple fans etc.

Or in the case of the iPhone 3->4 and iPad 1->2, they are getting fatter! lol

iPhone 3 = 12.3mm - iPhone 4 = 9.3mm

iPad = 13mm - iPad 2 = 8.8mm

I agree in addition to all those that are bidding way over the top on that well known auction site. Can't believe some people are prepared to pay stupid prices for an out of warranty item which can be had cheaper with warranty at Apple.

Heat for the find. Can anyone beat it as I'm holding out now as the price war / deal war has started.

Apologies, must be my eyes, but they look fatter. Maybe it's an illusion. Comment retracted.....

"Just 75%"

That's a huge portion of the market and clearly are outselling every other tablet by a mile.

Sales were starting to fall but now the iPad2 has come along it will soon rise again.
#32
75% from whatever source you used. 90% is APples view on the market. It differs but without doubt Apple comes out best by far no matter what statistics you use.

Price for iPad2 will be the same as they were before. Apple have done this forever with few exceptions.

If your going to the states, buy it there! You can get the 64GB for price of 16GB here..

Was tempted, but thought "why get one of these rather than a netbook?" is it just because its Apple?? I'm a fan, dont get me wrong, but the pricing of Apple products...

Yep, plus I really hate using an onscreen keyboard. It's a very nice toy but if you're looking to get something productive done it's not for everyone. I'll stick with my Atom/Ion based netbook for now :)

Because you need to boot up a netbook.

75% - Apple
25% - the rest

What's your point again?

I'm sorry but if they dominate 75% of the market, doesn't that mean they have outsold any other tablet?

Apple led the way on these. Now due to other manufacturers putting their own versions out there and for a cheaper price, Apples market share is obviously dropping.

But they DID dominate the market by a country mile and STILL DO. Even if their domination is not quite what it was. Seems you need to know bith your facts and your maths pal.

Your price includes cashback. If thats the criteria, bestbuy is cheaper with 8% cashback?

Seems like best buy is left out from ipad madness as of now. It will pop soon I am sure. (_;)

Voted hot OP...for the effort.

75% or people are to stupid to realise they are paying way over the odds because they are hypnotised by expensive marketing campaigns, that sounds feasible.

I bought my iPad 32gb wifi about 5weeks ago and I pick it up to use every ten mins lol. I have a laptop and a desktop and a 3GS, but the ipad gets used more these days.
I can stream media to it from the desktop, I can remote desktop with it, I can control my seedbox with it, and anything u can think of "there's an app for that".
Originally I had no use for it, just a burning desire to own one lol. But, after buying it as a reward to myself for quitting smoking, I couldn't live without it now...

BUY ONE! NOW :)
