I will let you know when it arrives .... I've had other refurbished items from Currys before and they have always looked brand new to me .... box has been open or packaging torn ... but the items looked un touched.

Refurbed items from online are in very good condition as they usually entail the customer only having them for a few days.
Most of the scratched stock goes to the actual Clearance stores so customers can see the condition themselves and the staff can apply the appropriate cost!

Hot price for what it is. I bought the first iPad when it was initially reduced but took it back and decided to wait it out for the iPad 2. Deffo glad I did, much easier to handle and snappier. Although the first gen is still a great little device.

Being refurbished doesn't affect the battery, does it?
#10
Same as apple refurb store price, but hot.

Hardly seems a bargain for me when the price for a new 16G IPad in PC World when I checked a few days ago was I think £339.00. Think I would rather pay s bit more and get a brand new one.
#13
check out viking direct

ipad 3 will probably be out before this gets delivered. that's a criticism of apple not the deal.

Sarcasm isn't very effective if you have to explain it!

you think once a year is too quick?
#18
To be fair, what corporation doesn't bring out new models of something similar every year or less?
Laptops, Cars, Phones... just look at clothes, same thing slightly different pattern every 3 months....

Hot from me :)

Sonicfury: What a ridiculous comment. Do you ever buy anything at all then for fear of it being superseded?

Hot.

Resolutely agree

Code has expired now

But it's the fact that apple basically takes a massive poo on the previous generation. Or the apple culture does. If you don't have the latest generation, you're not cool.

apple intentionally hold back on features so that they can justify producing updated models in rapid succession, to me that's a **** policy but hey, i'm not the one buying the stuff.

you misunderstand. i meant that i wasn't suggesting it wasn't a good deal if you were after one.

What makes Apple any worse than say Samsung. The iPhone 4 was released last July and still is the current model. Samsung has the galaxy s and s2 as well as half a dozen other models. The same for the galaxy tab, 7inch tab now there's a new 7 and 10 galaxy tab 2 within 6 months.

Every company has roadmaps of products with new features over the next few years and so withholds things, whether it's to be "innovative" or to introduce features when they are more affordable to manufacture
#27
The easter5 code appears to have expired, although 5OFFCUR works on the refurb ipads.

Just to let anyone know thats interested .... I received the ipad yesterday and its in brand new condition couldn't find any marks on it. The only reason I knew it was a refurb was the packaging, it came in a plain brown box - had the usb + adapter charger which was unused too.

Any screen light bleed at all? Please let me know, best test is a black background standing in a dark unlit room. Look for yellow glow around edges / corners. Please be honest, not trying to ruin it for you or others but Ive had to much technology heartache recently.

Im hoping not as these have been double tested by Apple so should be defect free (unlike the 6 ipads Ive had in the last 3 weeks! ) and if fault free I'll purchase - last last last chance Apple!!!!

Thanks

Couldn't find a way of doing it with a plain black background so just used the shutting down screen and boot up screen (with my finger over the apple) I did see some tiny signs of screen bleed but only along the top horizontal edge, hardly visible when looking at the screen face on. more noticeable from an angle.

My bleed was nowhere near as bad as the two in your link

For you to have had six devices with this and mine showing signs of it, I wonder if this is a design fault ?

I would have never noticed this if you hadn't have mentioned it, its doesn't spoil the ipad in anyway.

Thanks - sorry to make you aware of it. Im torn on choice as it seems any LCD technology can suffer light bleed, saw a Xoom with some the other day in currys and the Asus EP121 has had complaints of yellow spots appearing. Perhaps Im going to have to except it or go without.....
