I'll start off by saying that I am a carphone warehouse employee and if that breaks the rules in any way then please expire this and accept my apologies.

The deal that is on at the moment (actually due to low stock levels on the 16GB iPhone) is that any iPhone 32GB taken on contract on the Orange network is only £20 more than the smaller 16GB version.

For example on a £35 a month 24 month contract the 16GB is £89 and the 32GB was £179 but for this weekend until the end of sunday the 32GB will be £109, a saving of £70. For orange contracts where the 16GB would be free, the 32GB will just be £20.

Not sure how hot this will get as it's one of my first posts and iPhone deals are quite often slated!

750mb is massive, a heavy user would not exceed this, you'd have to be glued to your iphone contsantly downloading to go over this, I use it out and about all the time away from wifi areas (where you will probably use it the most) and I've done 400mb in about 3months

Then you barely use it.

Let me guess. You don't even know what apps like TopUpTv are?

:whistling: cant find topuptv is it for jailbroken if so cant find those sites

All networks 'unlimited' internet is actually 'capped' by their Fair Use Policy, it ranges from 750Mb to 1.5 Gb, depending upon network.

I use TV Catchup a lot, yet have never reached my 1Gb limit, ever.

Good offer.

Is this in store only or am I missing something? Prices on orange showing as £189 on 18 months & £280 on 24 months. Sorry If I am missing something obvious :)
#9
So over 24 months this deal would cost you £949.

It's better to buy it PAYG at somewhere like Tesco (in order to get points) and then get the 12 month sim only Vodafone £20 per month deal that gives you 500mb internet and £100 quidco cashback. Total 12 month cost would be £678.

to be fair you need to compare 24 month cost which would be £918

Hi OP.. I'm looking for an iPhone 3GS PAYG at the minute to jailbreak and unlock and was just wondering if you knew whether the phones instore currently have the latest firmware or are still 3.1.2 out of the box?

The main reason for asking is becuase as of yet there is no unlock solution for the baseband that is associated with the 3.1.3 firmware and I will be wanting to jailbreak and unlock to use with my current Tmobile plan.

Thanks.

if it helps my mate got a 32gb yesterday that was on 3.1.2 from cpw

I will never use Orange again after being kicked off my "unlimited" broadband line for using the internet too much.

They say a Fair Usage Policy applies but nowhere on their site did they list how much that was. Best thing they ever did for me, actually, because I ended up moving to Be internet and I went from a 2mb/s line to an 18mb/s line for £10 a month less!
#16
buy from tesco, stick in an o2 iphone simplicity sim, log on to website and unlock it for free or £15 if you on p&g i think, better than jailbroken and can update via itunes no probs, get clubcard points to convert to vouchers too, do it via quidco for the purchase and simplicity sim and get cashback on the deal too

if your in the market for an iphone seems silly not too
#17
Hi, orange do now do unlimited texts on their contracts to match o2. This offer is instore only and not displayed as is due to a stock shortage of the 16gb rather than a promotion. The iPhones I have sold are running 3.1.2 but as far as I am aware there is now a jailbreak solution for them (don't quote me on that however!)

You get 3 gig with T-Mobile.

i suspect this kind of deal will become common place as we grow nearer to the launch of the 4g...

i personally have a 3g and will be waiting for the new one before buying anything
#20
Thanks guys.. i didn't know about the O2 unlock but i was considering the tesco deal that i've seen posted on here previously.. i suppose the official unlock makes life a lot simpler.

What simplicity plan would be best and how would the porcedure work.... get phone -> get O2 sim (top up £15) -> place unlock request online (£15 becomes £zero) -> officially unlcoked iphone 3gs that can have a tmobile sim popped in?

Cheers all.

i have never reached my limit on my iphone 3gs with o2 and i used over 2 gig in one month

Isn't the price of £20 completely misleading. Nonsense, I think - so cold from me.

If its old stock it will be 3.1.2! Likely will be that otherwise cpw wouldnt be doing a deal to clear old stock. If its 3.1.3 then i think there r unlock solutions around.

Isnt there a new iPhone (4G) coming out soon? The new one has a much higher res screen from what I have read.

Good deal but be careful OP as the following rules apply on HUKD:

No self-promotion or marketing

Any type of self-promotion or recommendation where the person profits is severely frowned upon. The basis of the site is that it is for honest tips from other people who don't stand to gain. Merchants who are found self-promoting are banned from the site.

I think you'll find your post breaks that rule, not that I mind but mods might!
#36
Not for me but thanks to OP for posting. As for being a CPW employee, if its a decent deal worth giving HUKDers a heads up then not really self promotion as far as I can see (unless you own the store/site in question of course)

I dont see how this guy is profiting off this. Its not like he owns carphone warhouse. Therefor I see no rules being broken.
