With Samsung Galaxy S5 down to £279 with no contract, iPhones are going to have to drop in price.

Not even slightly. This happens every year. Samsung bring out their new big phone. It sells for a bit then they drop the price to compete on sales. That is their selling point. iPhones will still continue to sell at the same rate without any price drop until the next iphone comes out. This is why apple are so successful. They create quality products people are prepared to pay full price for.

Trying to work out why this is cold? It clearly states unlimited everything......cold just because people don't like the iPhone when its a really good deal?

Unlimited data from Three: 12-15p/m depending on how you do it. So thats 30p/m for the iphone 6.over 24m == 720 pounds
Current reasonable amazon price: ~ 570 pounds. The three 3-2-1 deal is limited in minutes, but for 5p/m top up you can get all you can eat data. Am sure theres better deals around.

T-Mobile have it at £29.99 a month unlimited data but £149.99 up front. Used to like be a iPhone fan from 4 to 5s think there's better phones than the iPhone 6 now.

Can anyone explain why they chose to have the camera lense raised & not flush? Seems silly to have such a sleek design ruined by a bit of glass appearing to be glued on...

No. It's because Apple have the most amazing marketing department. They convince people they make a quality product and they should ditch the phone they paid £540 for last year and upgrade to the newest, marginally better phone they've just release because it's amazing and a must buy and really is the best smartphone ever released. That's why Apple don't need to drop prices.

And that's coming from a self confessed Apple fan girl who has owned every iPhone since the 3G. I just find it amazing that people actually believe Apple sell phones simply because of the product Being top quality and not because they have the best marketing in the world. That is where Apple excell.

There is definitely some 'intangible' price premium to iPhones, no doubting that. If an iPhone is helping you make X amount by helping you run a business, yep I can see those people paying a premium. But we're now past the early adopter stage for the iPhone 6, the people that haven't yet bought are more price conscious.

The differential between a top of line Samsung Phone and an iPhone has never been this big though, I really can't see Apple being able to maintain this, factor in the Moto G 2014, and the 'mainstream punter' does struggle to justify paying £619 for the 64GB iPhone 6. I'm no iPhone hater, just don't believe these margins are sustainable. Already a lot of pressure on iPad prices.

I think Apple may try to maintain margins by pushing out the 6S +6Plus S early, say after 6-9 months, rather than 12.

Quality products? Get real. They create toys for child minded people to operate.

Apple is for kids.
Samsung is for adults.

Now if one would've said that Android is for adults, that statement would have more value. But the fact you said Samsung in particular, completely invalidates the point! Samsungs and their TouchWiz are a mockery of Android's potential.
