Apple iPod nano 5th Generation Pink 16GB - RRP £148.97 - £75 Instore @ Asda

Saw these at the Asda Living Teesside Park Stockton yesterday upstairs in the display cabinet to the right of the tills.

Had about 40+ in stock.

Seems a BARGAIN!

Well you do have pink sticky-notes on your face. Why not just get one, its all about the confidence :p

anyone seen this anywhere else?

Why does everyone always vote hot for apple iPod mp3/4 gizzmos? - you pay a fortune for them and then just outside of the 12 mth warranty they stop working for no reason (and i'm not alone on this one), and Apple are REALLY A$$Y about repair/replacements - even though the consumer protection laws are supposed to help in these situations.....

It could be just bad luck, but very few people I know have got a free repair as apple always seem to claim any fault is down to user misuse - ahh....thats it, we must have put the earphones in our ears the wrong way round!
#6
seems a good price, hopefully nationwide....
#7
why get this when you can get the 6th generation for roughly £90 off fleabay?
#8
I have one of these (in orange) and it's great. I prefer this gen to the new one as well because you can put video on there too. Great for long journeys.

if you don't like the pink but cant resist the price you can easily buy a black silicon nano skin off ebay for a few quid. protects, shields and blanks out the pink pretty well!

On the two occasions I have had visited the iPod Genius Bar the customer service was excellent and I was given a brand new iPod when they couldn't fix one of the devices.

This is a brilliant price for a 16gb and I prefer this generation to the current Nano's.

Couldn't agree more, mine failed just after the 12 month warranty and apple wasn't interested, mainly because they are the worst designed product for servicing (try to replace a battery in one) get a sansa or a creative, sounds better for a third of the full price of an ipod.

rung some stores in the south west, none have any in stock, may be store specific i think......

I won't touch Ipods ever again.

I had one bough me for a birthday and I know it cost a small fortune.
It stopped working after about six months (got it from currys) and the store tried to fob me off saying I need to contact Apple - anyway after kicking up a big fuss they sent it off for repair, which took ages, and lasted ok for several months after. Anyway it died again, Currys didnt want to know, and Apple just said sorry the twelve months warranty has lapsed since it was bought, you'll have to pay for a repair or well sell you a new one ! They didnt give a hoot about the length of time since the first repair ! - At least Dick Turpin wore a mask, these band!ts don't bother.
#21
Surely this is sexist - pink only !? Why one specific colour? Can't imagine a Pink ipod would even be popular for the girlies - its like pink cars - no one would even dream of owning one unless your as screwed up as Jordan for example!

Great deal. this gen Nano was the best by far.

Apple's insistence on updating these models every 20 seconds to skank us means they will put a foot wrong now and then. Current gen is poor

Its a little bit sexist to presume that pink is only for girls :p

Seems the listing on this is a little bit wrong - NOT fifth gen in my local asda .....
#32
Listing is wrong. These are definitely 4th Gen. It's a good price but not quite the steal that it initially looks like.
#33
Oooh woe is me :( oooh unreliable Apple products oooo oooo what on earth do you guys do to them?

So far I've owned over the past... I dunno, 8 years perhaps:

iPod 5G
iPhone 3G
iPhone 4
iPod Nano 3G
2 x iPod Nano 4G
Apple TV
2 x Apple iMac (20" c2d Intel refurb then 27" i5)
Airport Express
iPod Touch
iPad

Only had one hardware problem with the new iPhone (delivered faulty) and it was immediately replaced at the Genius Bar. All the other devices have been faultless.

So **** to the unreliabile claims, ever think those with problems shout much louder than those without? Stop dropping the damn things, they're electronics, same as any others, they don't like it.

Looks a good deal to me, if you like pink :)

Like every one says best nano produced. Buttons, live pause radio, video, camera etc. I like being able to change songs in my pocket. Hate pulling my iphone 32gb out as i find it to risky in public its great at home on the dock. For going out and about without worry and ease of use the 5th gen nano everytime.

uh...i would but music nowadays it's more like ...uh crap! everything seems to be shoddy R'n'B or Xfactor Pop... good songs are few and far between. Quality is the point, not the quantity...uh!

I must be very lucky because my 2nd generation nano is still going strong after 4 years of service. Reading these comments really puts me off buying another one though...
