The new 8gb nano is only £129 retail so in a few weeks should be available with discount codes and cashback for arund this price anyway.

Yes you would cause i would:p
You can get discount codes for around £10-£20 in quite a few places, plus quidco of around 5% will easily get the price down to around £115 at least.

:) Shall we enter a bet then? If you can find the new Ipod nano 8GB delivered for £109 but not going through Apple educational discount and/or refurbished/clearance section then I'm happy to paypal you 10 quid (you can use any combination of discount codes/cashback) Shall we define "a few weeks" as 4 weeks? Also it has to be available and in stock, and anyone can purchase. If you can't find one you paypal me 10 quid.

    Deal? ;-)

You've got to be crazy to purchase one of these when the far superior ones are just around the corner for a few notes more...

Fair enough but some people may prefer the old Nano looks. Besides the higher resolution and larger screen I don't see much advantage in the new Nano to be honest. It also seem to be less convenient to hold in hand. Most friends I know choose Nano because of it's small size and the fact that it's flash based and consume less power. They don't care about screen size nor wish to use it to watch videos. Of course everyone's mileage may vary.

I would bet £10 that within 4 weeks you could get one for less than £115 with discounts and cashback. £109 might be pushing it.

Better battery life too, it's cheaper and different colours. How is it less convenient? It's stumpier and smaller. You don't have to watch videos, but the option is there now.
