Apple iPod Nano 8GB (Black) - £137.50 delivered @ Tecno.co.uk

Use code TECNO5 to get this price. By far the cheapest price for an iPOD 8GB nano I've noticed.

Cooler than ever, the iPod Nano is now enclosed in a sleek and brightly coloured anodized aluminium shell. The 1.5" colour screen is 40% brighter than before and the battery life has been increased to 24 hours (80% of the battery can be charged in 90 minutes). What hasn't changed on this Nano is the superb click wheel control, intuitive interface and the seamless synchronisation with iTures. This 8GB version will hold up to 2000 songs.

Key Features: 1.5" colour LCD screen (176-by-132-pixel resolution) | Skip-free playback | Apple Click Wheel

Can someone tell me how the Nano compares to this 30GB for £140.98 inc VAT at Ebuyer?

Is the price premium because of the physical size or what? Seems to me that 30GB for £140 is better than 8GB for a fiver less.

I'm looking for something to replace my creative 6gb as it is full of Audio books for when I travel and think that the iPod is a good price.

30GB Ipods still £129.95 instore at ASDA if you can find one. See other thread about it.

I've seen the thread but I'd still like to know why the price premium. Am I missing out on someting if I go for the 30GB?

nano is just smaller and no video or extra games can be purchased. There maybe newer ones out in April so maybe another price drop on the old ones.

30GB is a hard drive, moving parts. Nano 8GB is flash memory, no moving parts.

So if you want to run about the Nano is ideal, also smaller and lighter also longer battery life.

Personally I have a 2GB Nano for road running and a 30GB 5G video ipod for all my music/photos/videos. Don't try and run with a video ipod, I broke one trying.:-(

So if you want an MP3 player to put all your music on and don't want to use it for jogging etc, get the bigger 5G video.

P.S The new iphone is out in a few months and its probably going to coincide with a seperate non phone widescreen/ tochscreen ipod video. May be worth waiting?

That's what I hadn't factored in; I don't go running (some chance!) but I do cycle a lot and the creative is flash so it's great for that. Think I'll save the pennies till before we go to Central America and buy a decent sized MP3 player then.

Really what I need is space for the audio books - Thanks for the info.
