Q: What is Grade B-?
A: iPods will be in fully working order. There will be signs of heavy markings, especially on iPods with chrome backs (iPod Touch & iPod Classic) as this is marked very easily. May have slight damage to back and light scratches to the screen.

Nice!(_;)

I got a A- and it was in fantastic condition.
#9
Just bought a B- .Worth a go for the money.Seems cheaper than Ebay and 3 months warranty.
#10
B+ seems the cheapest grade to guarantee no scratches on the screen (which suggests B- is pretty guaranteed to have a scratched screen?) - that's gotta be worth £10 extra?

anyone beginning to hate this word "refurbished " !? It's taking over the world !!

How do we get rid of our old faulty crap they say ! Give it a squirt of WD40 and sell it as "refurbished " !! Absolute genius !! ;)

I jailbroke my original 1st gen iPhone and still only use it for texting and phone calls.
I don't understand the appeal in Apps and junk. Almost everyone I know now owns one and uses it for the same basic reasons.

I'm really curious what you think that comment adds to the discussion?

I have a packet of Mentos (Mint) here - don't really like them, taste artificial, been here for a week-or-so - about as relevant really... ;)

Just been digging for a friend and I 'think' I'm right in saying these are really 2nd-gen iPods (in hardware terms) with newer iOS loaded - and they're also limited to iOS 4.2.1 and no later???

Good deal if you want a music player with the capability to play some apps/games but a bit of a tech. dead-end as far as iOS is concerned (and Apple love discontinuing stuff just to force you to upgrade!)
#22
This model is ssssoooo sslooowwwww, get the 4th generation with 4th Gen or buy a mac and get this free in a few months.
#23
The one at under 70 quid has sold out. Shame.

Look at the definition of 'refurbished' in a dictionary and then come back and apologise for being a berk...

This isn't a case like "pre-order" or "pro-gadaffi" - they're not words which mean something else - a used product which has been prepared for resale is 'refurbished' - that's what the word is for!!

Pillock...

lol, bit harsh.

Pre order is a different kettle of fish entirely - anyone pre ordering anything is a plank. But if it makes them metaphorically ejaculate over the "bonuses" (pre ordering computer games for example) good luck to them.

Anyway I think he was referring to this massive influx of refurbished items being sold, there's a massive number of deals on here that are "refurbished stock" etc etc.

Basically 2nd hand.

Think that's what he was saying. Not that it is a new concept. It's definately being exploited though but obviously not in the pre order sense that's just playing to people's anticipation for something.

How very interesting ;)

Personally I used to hoard those trebor mints that cost 10p about 15-20 years ago, put them in a draw and collect them with the dream of one day opening a shop outside my tree house and selling them to passers by. The flaw in my plan was that I lived up a half mile long drive with no houses visible from the tree house and couldn't help eating all the sweets after accumilating about £2 worth of stock.

is 6 months warranty supplied by Apple or Studentcomputer? If it is Apple , I would get it swapped in store giving some reasons.

there's a few different ones on there,2nd gen, 3rd gen and 4th gen.

Many places sell "refurb" items that are as good as new and often are to all intense and purposes "as new"... others can be genuinely seen as second hand. Under Distance Selling Regs you can return it if you dont like the look of it... so there's always a change to judge for yourself.

.....in the past I have bought refurb items that have clearly never been used.. maybe originally just bought in error and returned!!!

I ain't proud if it saves me a fortune.

My reply may be a bit harsh but I'm not the one moaning that people are using a word for it's intended purpose.

Refurbished means exactly what it's being used for - an item which has seen some use and has been cleaned/repaired/repackaged.

The commonest 'refurbished' stuff you see are the vast returns retailers get from the DSR - all that stuff which eBuyer/Argos/DSG etc. sell as 'refurbished' are mostly the things people got, opened, played with a bit and returned (e.g. they're barely 2nd-hand). The act of putting it all back in the box neatly and reselling it is easily covered as 'refurbishment' - the word makes perfect sense.

Unlike pre-order (you're ordering - there's no 'pre' about it) or whatever...

there's a few different ones on there,2nd gen, 3rd gen and 4th gen.

Remember that a '3rd gen' Touch 8Gb is actually a 2nd gen Touch (iPhone 3G) with the newer iOS.

Larger memory 3rd gen Touches have the newer hardware (iPhone 3GS).

2nd-gen devices won't multitask or support newer iOS goodies and have no offical iOS 4.3 (at least not yet and there's no plan, apparently).

I know the artificial sweetener in mints has a laxative effect but I didn't know it also causes verbal diarrhoea ;)

2nd gen still worth getting???

I'm going to say no. I got a 1st gen iPod touch back in 2008 a couple of weeks before the 2nd gen was announced (I know!) and Apple supported it until last year when iOS 4.0 came out. They had it for 2nd gen but it didn't get that many new features like the 3rd gen iPod touch/iPhone 3GS got. One of my friends told me that iOS 4.3 isn't available for it in the way iOS 4.0 wasn't available for mine. You'll probably have limited access to apps and only be able to use the normal applications and features on the iPod. IMO it's better to get a 3rd or 4th gen but you never know what Apple will do with iOS. I expected the iPod touch 2nd gen to last until iOS 5.0 came

Great little and suprisingly light device.

Got mine free with an iMac. Never appreciated how useful and fun they are until I got my hands on one.

Bargain at theses prices and mine is scratched to hell now front and back. Doesnt put me off using it at all.
#40
I bought the latest 8gb one for £142 at Dixons to use skype, wouldn't even think about a scratched one. 2nd hand junk, 3 months warranty is rubbish, cold from me
