Looks good, also 5% Quidco available.

Good price but the only thing I'd caution about is it's not long now until WWDC where, in the last couple of years, we've seen new iPhone's launched. There's all sorts of rumours (as always) about what may or may not be shown but it might be worth hanging on at least until then in case something special breaks cover.

Basically, we expect Apple to announce the next generation of iPhones, and possibly iPod touches, in June this year at their WorldWide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2009. It's fairly under wraps what will be announced (if anything), but it's worth mentioning that if anyone is able to wait, it could be worth seeing what comes it in a couple of months time.

Seems strange to refer to the V3 Ipod Touch when there have only been two editions.

no such thing as a 'v3 ipod touch'.

1st gen - June 2007
2nd gen - June 2008
3rd gen?! - new one at wwdc in june, most probably.

hd bumps have happened along the way in between, i think there was one last September.
#9
Was just about the say that. No 3rd gen. this is 2nd gen!
#10
i copied and pasted the title from the website, game site says same thing. will amend title

The iPod touch is a September release (for christmas), while the iPhone is June. The touch will likely have the version 3 firmware update available (for purchase) from June with the expected iPhone update.

See macrumors for all the release dates and predicted updates...

I've been looking at buying one of these recently. If it's only a firmware upgrade, surely it's worth buying a 2nd gen. now, then purchasing the update (£10 - according to Stuff magazine) when it comes out rather than paying a hiked price of £10< for the 3rd gen.?

unless the "3rd gen" also includes some hardware upgrades which are not known about yet

Apparently you can "wotch a movie" on it ... and it must have GPS built in too now as it seems you can "Find your location" ... mmmm... makes me wonder who designs their webpages.
#15
If you have a wifi connection, it can (sometimes) find its location. I believe it uses SkyHook: http://www.skyhookwireless.com/

Regards,
Mark.

wifi location never works on mine! v1.

I expect that there wont be a hardware update the the touch, only capacity changes as that technology continues to develop and come down in price.

I love my Touch V1, and the V2 is even better, with external speaker & volume control - so don't wait - just go for it!

it's at £165 now...
