Manufacturer's Description

Now that you can buy movies from the iTunes Store and sync them to your iPod, the whole world is your theatre. With a 30GB iPod in hand, those movies fit comfortably next to TV shows, new iPod games, podcasts, audiobooks, photo albums, and, of course, an entire library of music — up to 7,500 songs, in fact. iPod is a pocket-size prodigy.

Watch this space : How much can your pocket hold? That’s up to you and your iPod. It holds up to 7,500 songs, up to 9,375 photos, and up to 37.5 hours of video — or any combination of each. So you can browse movies on the iTunes Store, download the ones you want, then sync it to your iPod. Same goes for TV episodes, new iPod games, songs, best-selling audiobooks, and an entire universe of free podcasts. Go ahead. Fill ’er up.

Suit yourself : From cases to car kits, customise your iPod with accessories made especially for it. Pick up an iPod Universal Dock for more convenient syncing. Add an iPod Hi-Fi for room-filling sound. Sync photos on the go with an iPod Camera Connector. Attach a voice recorder to take audio notes.

Play all day : With all that music at your fingertips, you may never want to stop listening. Lucky thing your iPod plays audio for up to 14 hours. Or, if you’d rather watch, you can feast your eyes on movies and TV shows for up to three-and-a-half hours.

Pack light : It might be a miracle. Otherwise, it’s hard to explain exactly how 30GB of storage can fit into an iPod that’s over 30% thinner than the previous fourth generation. However it happened, it means you can carry your entire music collection — plus a nice selection of video — absolutely everywhere you go. And a 60% brighter, more vibrant display gives your album art, photos, and video extra oomph.

Search and enjoy : Finding what you want to hear among 7,500 songs could be quite a chore — unless you have an iPod. A new interface lets you search your iPod using the patented Click Wheel. And if you’re a fan of live albums, classical works, or anything that sounds best when it’s continuous, iPod supports gapless playback that seamlessly transitions from one song to another.

Whats the usual RRP on these? I'm after an iPod and I'm torn between the nano or video.

I'm not sure I'll ever use the video functionality, but if this is a great deal then I'll let it twist my arm to pay the extra.

Cheers

£179 is the usual price

I was looking into getting an ipod but have seen the 5th generation and the 5.5 generation, whats the difference anyone??
#5
I think Gen 5.5, are the 40GB and 80GB versions, and they have slightly better battery life. I could be wrong. :S

Good deal, although I think the RRP drop by £20 recently.
#6
~ £160 is current RRP :)

This will be US stock greyed in, beware warranty issues

No I think this is a 5.5 gen. The 5.5 gen ipods are either 30gb or 80gb. The 40gb ones were the older 4th gen ones. So this is a good deal because the rrp is £179.

But I'd rather spend the extra £60 for an 80gb one. That way you'll never run out of space.

Or £175 on the 5th gen 60gb ipod.

So if I buy an iPod in the US I won't be able to use the warranty here? Surely I will?

Is this a fact? I've ordered loads of stuff from ebuyer and have NEVER had grey US imports. What are you baseing this statement on?
#15
i grabbed a black 80gb brand new from ebay for £180 a few months back, this deal is pretty good as far as retail goes but there's some reputable traders on the bay which offer much better prices than this ....just a heads up.

i know some ppl don't like using ebay ;-)

Can you support this claim? Its totally inappropriate to give false information here.

BTW, just spoke to ebuyer and can confirm they dont sell grey imports. I'm still awaiting an official email from product manager which will be posted here.

5* rating based on 29 customer reviews speaks for itself.
#17
Doh - just ordered one yesterday from Amazon marketplace for £145... Ah well it's only £3...
#18
6th gen ipod will be announced very soon and should launch soon after the iphone according to some sources.
#19
Can't wait for the next Apple press conference. :p

Based on the fact I ordered one and it was model MA446LL/A rather than MA446FB/A. The LL refers to region code for the states. With the dollar rate at an all time high this is the reason prices are spiralling

how much warranty do you get with these?
