This is the new 3rd gen, not second gen. Basically identical internals as iPhone 3Gs, minus the Phone and GPS. Certainly one of the lower prices I've seen so far.

If the direct link doesn't work, just goto Dixons's site, then search 'iTouch 32GB', then you can find it.

3% Quidco deducts about 6 quid off the price too. Not to mention free delivery online.

It's £209.16, not £204. Still the best deal at the moment, I guess.

You will be waiting until September then. Thats the month new iPods come out.

£279.99 for a 64gb one at Amazon. 128gb ones won't be long. I'd pay the extra for the biggest. Already have a 8GB iPhone, the small capacity drives me mad as I watch lots of tv shows on the move and at the gym

I have a nokia e71 with 3. The phone's ok but id much prefer a 3rd gen apple one.

My contract with 3 runs until Jan 2011. I have the unlimited internet package etc, with push email.

Now, my question is: could i get the 3rd gen phone, unlock it somehow (?) and plug in my three sim so that I still get free internet, phone calls etc?

is that possible?

Yes, it's possible, but it's not going to be cheap. You'd either to have to buy a iPhone on contract, so you'd be paying 2 contracts simultaneously, or you'd have to buy a PAYG iPhone which costs a lot more.

Either of those ways you would get free internet for a year with the iPhone anyway.

Might wait until next model now, they seem to be trying to clear these.

The cheapest way is to get a second hand phone off flea bay or some times even this forum.

I have just done the same for my brother who is now on 3 with an iphone.

You could always buy an unlocked iphone from fleabay (or a locked one and get it unlocked by O2 or by other means....). Reckon that would set you back about £250 for a secondhand 8GB 3G phone altho I would recommend the 16GB version which would be approx £270-300. Then you can use it with your 3 contract. New iphones on fleabay are about £300 vs. £350 if you buy from apple/o2 direct. Depends what your buying prefs are and if you are worried bout buying off fleabay......

Hope that helps

Nice Deal!
Im pretty sure you can have GPS on your ipod touch once you jailbreak it, read up on ROQY Bluetooth. Its a Cydia paid app that lets you use external bluetooth GPS adapter as GPS source for ipod/iphone giving better signal than standard iphone gps!
I tried it on my iphone 2G works flawlessly, the dude who made it should teach apple a thing or two about actually implementing code for hardware they decide to include LOL, because so far their bluetooth functions suck!
For people not wanting a phone this is a pretty awesome deal.

27th January is the date set by Apple for their special launch event? Likely to be the new tablet - very exciting - but may also be the updated iPod Touch.
A number of Apple websites have taken apart 3rd gen models and have discovered a space to accommodate a camera - similar to iPhone - but apparently there was a production issue that meant it had to be released without Camera. As with everything Apple we won't no for sure until it happens!

2 years ago touches were updated in feb, was only capacity but could also be camera's this time - seems to be a theme of 'create' with the flyer for the 27th event. Would make sense on the 32GB coming down in price as it would go to the 'lower end' of capacity for ipods with the 128GB being the daddy. Imagine all the video, music and games, perfect device?!
