Was in John Lewis in the Trafford Centre (Manchester) today and they had about 5 or 6 of the '.mac' packs to clear for £17 each (think the usual price is £69!)

Didn't get one myself as it's not my kind of thing but a bargain for those that use it!

Live nowhere near a John Lewis if I were you I'd have bought all of those and sold um on ebay, I assume there's no time limit on them or you could have 4 years of .Mac for the price of 1 !
#6
Damn, shame i dont live near any. Not going up to newcastle on a saturday to get one either. GREAT deal though!!

If anyone does get more than one, could i PLEASE buy it off you? I will be willing to pay £25 delivered

My free .mac trial has just ended, I didn't really use it much to be honest so was no way going to subscribe for £70 - £17 is more like it though but nowhere near a John Lewis.

its not a "Mac Pack" its a .mac (dot mac) every mac user knows about this.

I just rang the Trafford centre store and they said they don't have this in stock, even in the clearance section.
#11
Non in Sheffield ;(
#12
just checked and they've discontinued stocking it, hence the price cut.
#13
I would love to have one of these. I hope someone could buy it and sell it here cheap say like 25-30 inc P&P. I would surely get it from them...

Not sure why they're saying that unless they've all gone but maybe it's because it was on one of the shelf ends - not in the main apple section, next to reduced packs of Microsoft OneCare, and Encarta/Student Reference. There were 5 or 6 yesterday but I didn't buy one because I've never even used the free trial.

Couldn't really see a market for them on ebay, if it's £69 retail people would want it for £30 on ebay so there'd be no profit to be had, besides best to give other people a shot at getting them.

Well if you could buy for £17 and then sell it on ebay or here for say like £30... you still got some profit... well unless you had bought it for £69... anyways... no worries.. I will try getting from US... cheaper than here (not this £17)
#17
does it work from the US then?

I went to Reading and after finding a member of staff that knew anything about computers she told me they didnt have any, and we checked and it was discontinued and there were no stores in the area that had any.
#18
It may have just been clearance stock in Manchester then because I've not seen any in Newcastle either
#19
went to trafford centre today after reading this, and they had sold out, i made the guy check the computer for stock and everythin, but alas they had all gone

so i would say this tread has expired

I was told that it is not country specific here. But will have to check in Apple forum.

PS: If you can sign up for a trial of .Mac then you can use it because what you would be buying is a serial number for a full .Mac account. -- Someone posted in Apple forum...

None in Solihull

I checked last night and there are none left in Bristol's Cribb's Causeway store. The only offers left are for Jam Packs (for Garageband) - these are half price (around £17.50).
