Apple increased the price of some of their products following the launch of new MacBook Pros yesterday.

John Lewis are currently selling the MacBook 12 inch at £1049. Apple are now selling this at £1249.

John Lewis also include a 3 year warranty at no extra cost (but this offer ends on 9th November)

I was planning on grabbing a older MacBook Pro a bit cheaper when the new one was launched so the fact that they have increased prices has stumped me a little! I figured they would clear stock on the refurbished store but after the price increase these are now more expensive than JL are selling as new!!

Just out of interest, is the 3 year guarantee the equivalent of apple care?

I'm wondering if they will phase out the old silver version once they have the new one stocked and shipping and whether it's worth holding out to see if they do drop prices more significantly?

Out of stock on their website. Might be in store too though.
Personally, I'm irritated by apple's pricing generally at the moment.
My current 256gb i5 11" macbook air cost me £650 from the refurbished store about 3 years back. Why apple think that the current 12" version with m3 should cost £1249 new, is beyond me.
It's a laptop ffs!!

Yesterday, in my local Apple Store they had all the previous MacBook Pros still available. I was told that they will sell them all at original prices (apart from the 2 models mentioned in bold) until the stock is gone. They are keeping the 15" 256GB version which is now £1899, up from £1599 prior to last Thursday evening. The 13" 128GB will also stay for sale, but now costs £1249 up from £999. So in the Apple Store (not online) you can actually still get a 13" 256GB MacBook Pro for cheaper than the exact same machine with just 128GB.

John Lewis are still selling at original prices, but I've noticed that most 13" models have now gone out of stock on the website (they were available yesterday).
