I have an i5 MacBook Pro, actually. I also have an i5 Acer. Both run exactly the same, again excluding the operating system.
Given the last comment - you actually would pay £400 more ... so is this a good deal for a Macbook Pro or not?
cheers

Excluding the operating system ? , For me thats why i buy apple computers , I dont think anybody would spend a grand on a macbook running windows even if they do look good !

Or you could get 3 Acers :)
I'm not sure the Pro has a big enough USP to justify the extra cost.
The Mac Air on the other hand is pretty unique given the size and weight.
