Good alternative to ordering from the Edu site.

Don't forget 2.5% Quidco

Dixons also offer 0% Buy Now Pay Later (for the disciplined only!)
Put your cash into a reasonable ISA and pay off in 12 months, saves you an extra 3-4%.

Been waiting for a sub £800 macbook deal for ages. Cheers for that, heat and rep added.

Very strong rumors of new Apple hardware on its way on the 14th Oct inc new macbook.

this is a macbook pro.
only the plastic macbooks are due an update...
potential tablet in the works, and an imac refresh.
this model is unlikely to change until next year.

Don't bet on it. If the Macbook is updated, it may be too similar in specs to the lower end macbook pro. Worth waiting a few days IMHO

From what I have read this machine only came out on Summer 09 so how could it be refreshed in less than 4 months? not Apple like.

Anyways ordered and heres to hoping it gets delivered Friday

it is conceivable that the mbp 's will get a speed bump, but that's about it. as kaboom says, it's too new...
also worth putting an ssd drive in when prices are reasonable
