Mac Pro is definitely NOT the Rolls Royce of computers, if it were it would only ever be sold to about 100 customers a year. It is Kelvin Klein of underwear, still mass produced but that extra special.
#2
or spend half the cash and get a windows 7 laptop which isnt overpriced rubbish which only people who wear socks and sandles own.
#3
apple rule. Os X still way ahead of windows 7. Socks n Sandals? more like sex and sanguinity :D compared to the indoze brigades dull lifestyles and "buy cheap" philosophy. No wonder Briton is in such a mess.
#4
Someone tell battez that a Mcbook is not Scottish & to lay off the tonic wine.It is spelt Britain & not Briton you wit.

I think you'll find that's "Calvin":giggle:if it was a "Kelvin Klein" of computers it would be a cheap knockoff.

Hey, enough of the racist sterotypes! :x Quite offended by the "deep fried Mars bars" comment, like we all have them? Never had one, never seen one for sale, never even heard of anyone who has seen one for sale! so I wish people would just drop that kind of rubbish once and for all. And don't tar all of us Scots with the same brush, just because he's vaguely illiterate and obviously a Mac fanboy, doesn't mean that being Scottish has anything to do with it!

ok ...

back on topic. this seems to be not a bad price for this particular laptop, I see it for about £800 - 820 elsewhere. If comparing like for like, I don't see any windows laptops with a 2.26GHz C2D cpu that are much cheaper, Here is an Asus on EBuyer with the same cpu, 4GB Ram, 320GB HDD for £756. A bit cheaper, but not too much in it. You have to drop the cpu speed on Windows pcs to see any real savings, but that would not be a like for like comparison.

Guess it just comes down to personal preference of manufacturer\OS. I personally would use a windows pc because that's what I'm used to and all my software would work with it.

Here is not the place for a fight on windows vs mac debate, simply is it a good deal? Yes, seems to be. Yes, you can get a cheaper windows laptop, but for what it is, it's not a bad deal.

Nothing to do with "racist stereotypes" I just dont like the Scottish, you have chips on your shoulders that go back hundred's of years, and I get fed up with hearing from Scots on here how much they dislike the English whether it's over independence, football, etc etc, well guess what there are quite a lot of us English down here that dont like you either.Going back to the racism issue I lived and worked up there and believe me you have no idea what racism means until you've been an Englishman out on a Saturday night in a middle sized Scottish city, so please dont start bleating about racism your country is full of it.

I never said I don't like the English, but it seems that all the attacks have been one way so far, so maybe its not the scots who have a chip on our shoulder. This deal is about a macbook. This deal is not about your grievances against the Scots. This site is not about your grievances against the Scots. Maybe its because of your apparent dislike of the Scots that you feel it necessary to attack us when talking about a deal on a macbook? get real and stay on topic, this site should be about discussing deals, not your petty squabbles.

As a Scot who was attacked in London just for having a Scottish accent, yes I do know how bad racism can be, which is why I hate racism in any form, whether its anti-english, anti-scottish, anti-black, anti-white, whatever. and here is no place for it either.

I'll admit that I tend to read posts rather than contribute to them, but why attack me on that now?

No way that MAC OS X is way ahead of Windows, name me one international company that runs OS X for its business. Even DOS, you remember DOS, and Linux have a bigger usage than MAC OS X in business. Even the production line that makes Apple Mac run Windows.

Love that you started this whole thing on the fact someone couldn't spell... Looks like you forgot to use your spell checker for the word 'hasn't'.

I feel sorry for you, I really do.
