LOL, only apple users would think spending six hundred quid on a lappy with just 1gig RAM, a slow processor and awful integrated graphics was a 'hot deal' - they're used to overpaying for everything, "as long as it's shiny!"

After being a windows user since I can remember, I purchased an Apple iMac 20" 2.4GHz. Safe to say I haven't switched on any of my windows machines since I got it. I had a high spec gaming machine and gaming laptop both running vista with higher specs than the iMac and this wipes the floor with both of them. I will be buying this macbook in the coming weeks but through PC World, as they price match + 10% making this £539.

    Voted hot either way!

How is it better than the gaming rig? I take it you are not gaming on the mac?
How can you compare the two? Just interested.

    Good deal !

No not gaming, unless you consider Spore gaming!! I had the Asus G1S gaming laptop and cost just shy of £1000 and bought it for it's specs as I do alot of design on the move. The machine itself was good but it's vista that lets it down, using Ubuntu (a version Linux for those who don't know) it was fast but none of the on-board shortcuts and quick keys worked. I bought the iMac and I can't believe how fast it is considering it's lower spec, and sorry to say it but it looks sooooooooo much better than any windows machine, I can sit here and stare at the screensaver for ages!

got a mac and never looked bac. No more having to format every month, no more blue screen of death, no more virus' (I am fully aware macs can catch virus') nicer o.s. (imo) faster machine, and when it does crash which isn't often and is usually when im running microsoft office:mac (which i wouldn't have purchased had i not got it at a crazily cheap student rate, as neo office does the job) i can just force quite and it does this instantly and i'm back up and running again (unlike my windows where task manager didn't always work and i usually had to turn my machine off) And if i did ever have to format my mac, it wouldn't be at all a big deal because of time machine!! which is awesome.
I admit compatability on a mac can be a problem but theres always an open source equivalent, and if your that bothered you can always run windows on a virtual machine or just use boot camp.
My 2.4ghz Intel Core 2 duo, 2gb 667MHz ram is great, and was worth every penny of the £745 I paid for it.
