sounds good, anyone actually bought them from cex?
#2
all you are buying really is a code to input - is it difficult to be certain that the code has not been used already by the person who traded it in to CEX?
#3
I have been told by someone who has bought from CEX that these are brand new sealed.
#4

Thanks. My understanding is that mobileme offers many more features other than syncing.

10 gb on online storage, automated remote backup of your contacts etc, and the gem in the collection, Find my iPhone, which can locate a lost iphones, send messages and alerts that ovrride the silent settings, and in the last extreme, wipe the data remotely. So it's not just a sync service it's a form of insurance. That said, £32 is a far beter price than £59, and I wish I'd seen it two weeks ago when I signed up for Mobile Me.

I have bought from CEX before, I was told on the phone that Photoshop CS3 was they type of software they 'only' sell brand new and sealed. I received a used box of CS3 with a different version Disc in it, took weeks for them to refund money, they promised to refund postage and as such said that special delivery was preffered, I did not receive a refund on my postage they point blank ignored my emails. As I could afford it I gave up getting angry and took the hit.

Im sure other people will say they are great but personally I would never trust them for software again.
#11
 this may be a stupid question but can this be used on the ipod touch???
#12
They also have the family pack for £42: http://www.cex.co.uk/products/Computing/Software/Software%20-%20Apple/index.php?sku=885909249909

Seems only avaliable in store. Will they deliver?
#13
Yes you can use MobileMe with the iPod Touch, I do ;-)
#14
I hunted for these a couple of weeks back. Most stores say they have it in stock, according to the website, but when you get there you find out they bought them in unsealed, and were sent to head office. I finally got one in Barking, no idea if they still have any.
#15
this is a great price, We need two, but I don't live near any of those stores :(
#16
£32 a year is a fairer price for this service - £59 is a bit steep - but if you get value out of it then its worth it I guess
#17
surely if cex buy them from apple at a price allowing them to sell this cheap as i am sure they are still making a profit at £32 why can't apple sell them direct to there customers for this why should we have to go through a third party.
#18
shame it's not online, been looking for this at a reasonable price :(

Well, Apple have a habit of getting people to pay for Service Pack releases, i.e. Snow Leopard, so paying for this software is even earier money!

I won't vote either because I don't / won't have anything Apple so I can't be fleeced by them!

£32 so you dont have to plug in a cable, cold for me

Unlike Windows 7, which allows people to upgrade from VIsta to a working operating system.

*brandishes expensive but user friendly iManbag*

Exactly!
Why on earth do people buy apple products
#25
darn tempting for the price.

iPhone is the gadget to end all gadgets. Those who dont like it, simply cannot afford it.

To be honest I don't understand where the Vista hate comes from, I've used it everyday at home and at work for almost 2 years and I've never had a problem with it.

Oh the irony, you have to laugh...

Here is an ignorant person, acusing other of being ignorant, brilliant.

You should research what this product does and how it would benefit some people before commenting.

p.s. no i don't own an apple product other than an old ipod shuffle and I don't own this software.

if all you want to do with it is office and internet, its fine. Its if you want to do more, its a naff product

I agree, people sl@g the iphone off because they think it represents something (me included:oops:) that was untill I got myself a 3GS the other day, have got to say this is THE best gadget I have ever owned (this is coming from someone who has just about every gadget there is out there), yes other gadgets can do the same, but not in one user friendly package, and certainlly not aswell as this.

Probably sound like a fanboy I know, but you know what, if a fanboy is someone who thinks/knows there 'product' is the best out there, then count me in!

well said! It does represent something though. Style, class, common sense! Its THE best invention to hit the shelves in years!

The only bad thing it had was the very very poor transferring time for files, I used it for heavy use burning, playing games/music, sync with my xbox etc and the difference between xp and vista was only transfer times for files disk to disk.

With the amount of people that downloaded it and installed it before it was released and them being download junkies moving files constantly it got the "rep" of being pants for that alone.

Windows 7 is pretty much the exact same thing with a new set of "fancy bits" and the transfer speed the way it should be

As you can see from my post count I'm a long time lurker but not a poster (although I do like to see what other people have put, and often let it sway me) I just felt the need to comment on here that they are great little machines. And those that say they are expensive, I can't really see where you are coming from, yes they are a little bit more cash, but oh so worth it, having the full internet that runs so smooth in my pocket has always been the dream really ever since phones started having WAP on them, finally the tech has caught up with the idea. Of course I havent had EVERY single phone on the market, but have had a fair few and can honestly say anything from NOKIA or SONY (although I love SONY products normally) can't compare, not saying they never will, just not at the moment.

With regard to the actual deal, as said I have only had my 'gs' for a few weeks so gona see how I get on before commiting to something like this, although knowing me I will cause I always like to have the full funtionallity of something.

Unfortunately I've heard of someone trying to get their money back as the 'sealed' one they bought was already registered.

They aren't bought direct, otherwise stock would be available online rather than in the stores where they are typically found. Apple don't undercut themselves or their resellers.

Yup.

I'll carry on doing everthing this paid app does for free with my "Naff" Nokia E71 as i obviously can't afford to buy an iPhone or waste money on software for it that Nokia provide for free.

The iPhone might be the best "Gadget" on the shelves, that I'll agree with but there are far better 'phones' around which funnily enough is what i prefer my phone to be good at. and it is.

Are you guys for real? Just had too post...

From someone who owns both Mac & Windows products, do some research before making uneducated remarks... Macs are great products, and they are a testament to a company who chooses to go against the grain and succeed!

As for Vista, it has more issues than transfer speeds... Windows 7 is however a much better product.

well it is a few thousand pounds less than an exchange server settup!! lol MM is a great product, push everything, email, ical, address, remote wiping and iphone location finding, website hosting, gallery hosting with password protect 20GB online storage, computer syncing (pc and mac) unlimited clients, back to my mac screen sharing (it costs more for this sort of service on its own from alternatives) etc
