Direct LINK to refurb store ;)

Great price for the 2gb!!!
#12
Quidco @ 3% too it seems
Seems odd the 2gb is cheaper than the 1gb in the refurb store
#13
I *think* that apple refurb prices are dependent on stock... I imagine their system is quite complex though.

This is the price drop that has been expected for a while, it's just a shame they're not real bargains like the £69 ipod photos.

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the 30gb has a 7 or 15 hour battery life?
I know the newer (2005) have a 15 hour life.

Thanks, :)

To think 6 months ago I didn't own a single MP3 player. I then took the plunge and purchased an iPod Video 30gb for about £155 (via Quidco, Egg and a 10% voucher). BUT I was so worried about scratching it by using it everyday that I purchased a refurbished 2gb Nano from the Apple store for about £80. THEN 3 weeks ago I managed to bag a 40gb iPod Photo from Boots for £10 !!!

Once again Im tempted with the new range and the newly reduced 'refurb' iPods, which are GREAT VALUE. Just be aware that they come in a plain brown box stamped Refurbished, so are no good to give as a present. The cables, headphones and software are all sealed and the iPod outer case is a brand new replacement. Apparrently any returned, faulty or scratched iPods are repaired, have their original cases removed and replaced, and are then repackaged as refurbished goods. I was very pleased with my purchase, although you dont get the standard Apple cloth slipcase.

Nice post EDI, but please dont tempt me to keep buying cheap iPods, Im becoming addicted.

eh?!?! £10??

Boots recently had a masssive clearance of electrical products and accessories. Items were reduced to half price, then 75% off and finally things like Sony MP3 players, DVD recorders, PS2's, Xbox packages, iPod shuffles etc.....were all put down to a TENNER. There were numerous posts on various forums about this BUT stock was very, very hard to find.

I was fortunate to spy a discontinued iPod Photo sitting at the bottom of a glass display, underneath some Nano boxes. The price label still stated £279.99 but when I asked the SA to check, it came up as £10 and she nearly fainted.:giggle:

I was also lucky enough to get a Philips Shoqbox for £10 as well.

Wow, excellent bargain, well done! Mind you, sounds like you had to do that thing most of us seem to dread on here; shop in stores  lol

blinkin eck I always miss those kinda things. having said that I dont know any boots near me that sell stuff like that lol.

well you dont want one of these. your tenner one is just as good!!

this country's such a rip off :(
the refurb ipods are pricier here than the brand new new generation ipod in the US.
same ipods in the US cost under £90. if you know someone from the states, its cheaper to buy there and ship here than buy here directly!
#22
The US also has far better content on it's iTunes store, and everything is cheaper.:w00t:

What happened to the Movie and TV show facility that Apple were going to bring out in the UK. The only thing that has been added to iTunes is the ability to download games.

Amazon US price for 60GB ipod video is USD 299. Here, the best offer is ~ £200
#24
Why post the £23 voucher if you have to spend £235 first and none of the products amount to £235?

These codes are tied to a specific email a/c in my experience. Has that changed?

You cant put all of mine ;) but you can put all of yours lol. When you load up itunes you can import all your music you have stored. Then you can transfer it to the IPOD. HTH

Regarding purchasing from the US. $299 = £160. WHen you bring it back to the UK, if you are going to abide by the law, you have to declare it and pay VAT. This takes your IPOD to £190 already. Hardly much off the price here considering you might have trouble honouring the warranty, the power adapter will be a US plug (USB wont be any problem). If your not gonna declare it at customs then forget the US and just buy it from a market stall.... lol.

Having someone post it from the US marked gift wont work either. You mgiht get away with it. But probably wont, as they dont usually allow something brand new wrapped of this value to pass through as a gift (free of vat).

Adding to this.. in my experence dont get someone to send as a gift and under value the item, doing so will get the sender in a lot of bother.

Anything under £50 in value entering the UK via slow post (ground) tends to have more than an 50% chance of not being picked up, but over £100 and its almost certain. The official VAT exempt limit on good is £18.. so beware.

ps: the worse bit is even if the VAT is £10, the delivery company often charge a handling fee which is often a fixed amount £10+

Why would you buy a refurb for 60gb - £175 when you can get a brand new 120gb classic which is a better version of the video for £179!!
#37
Am I missing something here? I bought a brand new iPod Classic at Xmas for £160 and it was the 120Gb model - what is the deal with £175 for a 60Gb? Is it iPod Touch not Classic?
