There are reasons not to go for the outgoing 13" - no firewire and noticeably inferior battery life. The 15" is a better bet, since the new models have dispensed with the PC Express slot so no eSATA or USB3 when that comes out.

the new models only seem to have Sata 1, so people planning to install SSD will not get the full performance from it :x

dont go for these.

The base model of the 13" unibody macbook (oct 2008 update) these ones that you see dont have back light keyboard.

The new 13" macbook is now called macbook pro also is faster with 2.23ghz processor with firewire and with back lit keyboard for only £899.

And much better screen more colourful brighter and battery lasts longer.

It would be really silly just to save £100 to miss out on all these features.

If yo will buy a macbook, buy the new editions of wait till next update if you can.
