I can understand people paying over the odds for a mac due to OSX being awesome, unbreakable etc but £75 for a wireless keyboard + mouse, isn't that OTT
#2
I purchased the Magic Mouse a few months back and it is a fantastic mouse. It's great to use and yes it is very expensive but its really good not having any ball or roller on top of the mouse to scroll pages. It's also customisable with a lot of third party apps.

Not a big fan of the bluetooth keyboard though for the reason that it doesn't have the numbers on the right side. I insert numbers quite a bit and it's far quicker using the numbers on the right as opposed to along the top of the keyboard.

Damn apple sure like to overprice their things. LOL

£58 each from the Apple store so a good deal. Irrelevant if you think these are expensive products, they are cheaper than elsewhere.

Well said - why do these posts always end up in a Apple v PC thing! Vote on whether it's a good price for that product and not whether you think it's overpriced!

i've got a magic mouse at the moment and i wouldn't recommend it. its too flat to be ergonomic and use all day and the silver paint has started to flake on mine. however the scroll function works brilliantly

I have to disagree. I use my magic mouse for 8 hours a day (im a web developer) and this is the best mouse i have used over the last 15 years int he business.

I guess each to their own though

Yeah, me too (web developer) and use it constantly. I was initially very worried about RSI as I'm a bit susceptible to that but nothing. I think it's because you only have to hold the mouse very very lightly and the scrolling is effortless - feather touch.

Just because a product is normally very expensive and this is now cheaper than very expensive doesn't make it hot. The fact is that people will always vote as they see it.

I am sure that like many Apple products it works very well, but they sure know how to make a healthy profit.

Ha ha, more likely for Chavs in Ugg boots to show off, LOL

Clearly a hot deal. Looks like it's most likely primarily non-Mac users who have been voting cold here. Which means there's a lot of irrelevant votes1

How did you figure that one out sparky? Us non-mac users need keyboards and mice too. Also you mac people can use "normal" keyboards and mice. So I think it is fair to evaluate this product as a wireless mouse/keyboard combination.

With that in mind, this is really overpriced, even if it is more expensive directly from Apple.

Although I am a PC user I voted because of the comparitive price elsewhere.
Voted hot :)

I think you can find plenty of non apple keyboards and mice that would cost more than this. I'm not a fan of apple or microsoft but apple keyboards are very good. Personally I hate apple mice. This price is very good if you'd like both items.

You missed the point.

Did I? You made an absurd comment implying that votes from non-mac users are irrelevant. I corrected this.

Unless you were obtusely and sarcastically criticising mac users for being cultish. If so, well done.

This discussion has been quite amusing, I never realised it would cause friction!

FWIW, I don't have a mac but spend a lot of time on a PC and want a small but high quality keyboard and mouse, which is why I chose the Apple set. The price is probably £25-35 cheaper than anywhere else, and it's the latest version of the keyboard that only uses 2 batteries.

An equivalent Microsoft or Logitech bluetooth set is around £70 to over £100 (Dinovo Edge), so maybe the Apple set is more than you personally are willing to pay, but it certainly isn't overpriced in comparison to other high quality keyboard/mouse sets.

Maybe I should go hunting through poundland for all the cheap tat, that seems to be the way to get heat round here :)

As you say no equivalent Bluetooth keyboard and mouse combination available for this price so those voting cold are illogical.

Excellent discount and therefore a 'hotukdeal'!

Yes of course, because logically speaking it would be utterly impossible to buy a keyboard and mouse separately then add up the prices and compare them to the price of this set. :whistling:

Anyway your first statement regarding no cheaper alternatives is factually incorrect. Behold: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/118547

That is pretty fugly though and you get a far better choice if you can bring yourself to make two separate purchases.

This combination is hardly in the same league as the Apple offering! The keyboard is plastic against the cool aluminium of the Apple. The MS mouse is again a standard mouse without the elegant multitouch solution or design aesthetics of the Apple solution.

Clearly many PC users have no idea about design or elegance!

It remains a good deal as it is clearly heavily discounted over the normal price so is a good deal.

Leave the PC v Mac debate outside this site as it provides no help in identifying a 'hot' deal. Which this clearly is but is being marked down, like so many Apple deals, by PC lovers/Mac haters.

So by your reckoning all similar function devices must be evaluated before a hot vote can be made?

Now that is clearly mad! If a deal is better than available elsewhere then the vote (hot or cold) should relate to the amount of discount on offer, as consumer choice on the actual manufacturer, design or fetures of the item is down to the user!

Can you find a comparable Bluetooth aluminium keyboard and Bluetooth multitouch mouse combination for a lower price? If not then you should have voted this hot. If so you should have told us where from and voted cold.

Too many vote cold on Apple (and other items) without any reason as to why. This is really ruining this sites usefulness.

Just received my order from Andertons and the mouse was a wired version! They have been receiving calls all day as the wrong items have been sent out to lots of customers. They say they will send the correct items out for Monday. Looks like it may have ben a miss-price that will cost them?
#29
That's weird, I didn't even think there was a wired Magic Mouse? I received my order the day after I posted and it was exactly what was advertised, the UK wireless keyboard (2AA version) and the Magic Mouse, both in the same box as a bundle.
#30
I think their warehouse made a mistake and sent out lots of incorrect packages so hopefully I will get my correct order on Monday!
#31
Those who keep voting this post cold are really harming this site as this is a HOT DEAL!
As none can find this bundle for a lower price elsewhere and the discount is significant then it should be HOT!
Too many are ruining this site by being Apple haters!
#32
If I could just clarify - we did have a problem where we sent out incorrect items but it was just a labelling error at our warehouse. The bundle deal is still available for £69.99.

The reason we have some to sell at this price is because we just supplied a school with a suite of iMacs which come with these items as standard - but they require wired peripherals - for obvious reasons!
#33
They have gone down a tenner now, but you must call them up to get the new price.
