Can anyone confirm or help please , My energy's bill on my wife's name and she dont work and currently pregnant. My salary band is about 35k gross per year and no benefits. Are we still eligible !?
You're the type of person who if they had millions in the back, would still claim a couple of quid benefit off the social.
Disgusting.

Just because this guy works and earns X ammount and would like more to help support his family and soon child (God Willing) he is disgusting ... How do you work that out.

Whats disgusting are those who don't work and have no intention of working as its easier to claim off the social.

(I'm not including those who obvs want to work and can't for whatever reason ... Fair play to them)

Typical UK - Those who are dossers get a hand-out. Those who work hard and earn their way in life get no help. Should be available to all or none.

What a T.I.T

You can be working full time & earning less than £16k. Wow. They get £140 back.

So on the British Gas form, I'm guessing if I answered no to all the questions, I'm not eligible right?

If you've registered before it automatically applies each year as long as your circumstances haven't changed.

No it's for people on pension credit or those on low incomes with an illness/disability/sick child. any money left over will go to families with children under 5 who are in fuel poverty. Different energy companies have different criteria but this is basically who will receive it.

Probably not however I believe it tells you at the end based on what you have put on the form. I did mine last week and it said something like "looks you qualify we will be in touch soon we might need evidence if we can't get the information we need". Npower one for those wondering at least last year anyway didn't tell you their and then if you were able to get it.

Yes it is available with Attendance Allowance, as long as total earnings/benefits aren't over £16000

It seems utilita have closed the application process due to high demand which i assume means they will not be accepting any new applications this year. Most suppliers leave application process open till end of December

If you have applied before, some people will automatically re-qualify for the Warm Home Discount and are in what is called the Core Group. If you fall into this group, you do not need to apply again and will receive a letter direct from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). You do not need to contact your energy provider and your rebate will be automatically applied to your account.

Yes thats what i was told by british gas for my dad who receives pension credit and dla, the scheme was meant to have ended as it was a 5 year deal by the government. However, the scheme has now been extended i have had to re-apply for my dad who currently falls into this catergory. Why just 'do nothing' and lose out! it only takes a quick phone call to your energy supplier.

argue it! tell them they did not let you know that the scheme had been extended you thought it was ended, if you kick up enough fuss you might just get it or tell them you'll change energy supplier see if that helps don't let them get away with it!

It hasn't as far as im aware the link and the page they have up for warm home discount is for last years scheme. Your better off ringing Npower on 0808 172 6999. Year 5 applications were last year, this scheme is year 6.

I've been keeping an eye on NPower for a family member and, as far as I'm aware, they also haven't opened their one yet.

I thought there was a delay this year due to wrangling about minor changes to the scheme, so I'm taken aback that Utilita was open to applications for theirs, never mind fully subscribed already! Makes you wonder what they put aside for the scheme...
