Been getting this policy for my mum and dad for the past 6 years ever since they hit 50. First month's premium is free and then £4 per month after. The voucher always comes after the first payment. Probably got 20 Amazon or M&S vouchers out of it. Still going strong. I voted hot for this deal but am happy to keep it chilly in here. The less people know the better.
haha nice!

After you have paid the first premium, my quote was £10 and I am 57, you can cancel and keep the gift, I chatted to sunlife online and they confirmed this.

nice. so £75 quid's worth of amazon vouchers for a tenner then ?

i need to invent a time machine, or just get a fake birth certificate!

You have 30 days from the day you receive your policy documents during which you can cancel your Plan and have any premiums paid refunded in full. After that, you can cancel your Plan at any time by writing to us. Remember, if you do cancel, your life cover will end and you wouldn't get anything back. As long as you continue to pay your monthly premiums, your Plan can’t be cancelled by us for any reason.
Your gift will be sent to you around one month from the day you pay your first premium. Because the first month's premium is free, this may be two months into your policy.
Without digging any deeper into the T&C, it would appear that you can get £75 of Amazon vouchers for £8 max. That seems a good deal.
It may be, of course, that there's a gotcha in the T&C, but there doesn't seem to be.

there must be a gotcha - has to be - £75 of amazon vouchers for £8 is way, way too good to be true :)

i'd imagine you'd have to prove you are of the qualifying age with a birth certificate as a bare minimum. Obviously easily done for those that are :)

Who’s responsible for paying for a funeral?

Usually this is the next of kin or another family member or friend. Or it can be the person named as the executor in the will.

If no one close to the deceased is willing or able to arrange the funeral or there aren’t enough funds in the estate, the council arranges a public welfare funeral.

This will be a very basic ceremony and won’t include extra arrangements such as flowers, cars or notices in the local newspaper.
Didn't think the day would come when I can't afford to die!

I don't understand how it costs less for a religious service?
Surely holy ground and a priest and whatnot is expensive by comparison to any old patch of ground?

Wicker Baskets in the woods for us. (A genuine option)
£2777 for a cremation! costs me £33 less if i opt for a religious service instead of a non-religious one! Think I'd rather pay the extra!

So it's actually an advert for SunLife Over 50 Cover.

It would be in freebies for the all important Parker pen ;)

I saw this advertised on TV today. Request more info about the Axa Guaranteed Over 50 Plan and they'll send you a free parker pen. You can also do it over the phone by calling AXA on 0800 40 60 40…

I think this advert should be banned; no one over the age of 50 can resist a parker pen
its a sad life if ur over 50
luckily im not!
I reckon AXA/Sun Life must keep Parker in business with all the millions of pens they must have given away. I'm sure they've given them away for at least 20 years
