not a bad player, bought one last week. good sound, easy to drag music onto.
good headphones too. only problem is using the interface, a bit fussy but otherwise well worth £20

Bought one two months ago, and the sound died last week. Wrote to Tech support and haven't heard back yet. Great player while it worked, but it remains to be seen if the warranty is any good.

Bought one in january from my memory, it developed a fault in April.Emailed for a replacement ,sent it back and got a replacement within days. excellent service. would recommend this player for the price, you cant go wrong.

Did you email MyMemory or Archos? According to the warranty, you're supposed to contact Archos after 30 days (I think it was), so I did. That was Friday and they were to respond in two business days. Now Wednesday and have heard nothing -- would really love to know who you contacted as the player should last more than two months.

Updated: Archos never replied so, as you suggested, I contacted My Memory directly. They told me to return it to them Freepost, and now are sending out another free of charge. I'm happy with the service, and hopefully the new unit will last longer. My husband really liked the first one before the sound went out.

it doesn't matter what the warranty says, in the UK the sale of goods act guarantees you a 12 month warranty with the retailer you bought the product from regardless.

Best value MP3 player I've ever seen. Bought one a few months ago for my beastie - she loves it cos it looks *exactly* like a minature version of my HTC (PDA).

Ive had mine for about 2 months and i only have two problems with it:
1. You cant make playlists
2. When skipping tracks it uses a sound fade and rise to blend them, i prefer a clean cut change.

so obviously only minor things in my opinion, well worth £20

Absolutely correct. In the UK, your first contact is the retailer - no matter what the manufacturer (or indeed, the retailer!) says.

I am trained in Consumer Law and can confirm that this is totally the case.

does it play files with no gap/pause between them, such as playing the dark side of the moon or a dj mix seemlessly, and does it do this with flac?

And you are absolutely correct also, well done. Good to know that there is a Consumer Law expert in our midst. Be careful with you power.
