Remember these are just badge engineered chinese notebooks.
The 10 and 10s are different designs, not different versions of the same design.
The 10s has no VGA out, the 10 does.
There are versions of the 10 with 6 cell batteries but I believe the 10s only comes as a 3 cell.
Hope thats right - and helpful.

The 10s looks really nice, made in magnesium and aluminium, and it looks like it has HDMI out

EDIT: Actually I think its a mini-VGA port and NOT a HDMI. Doesn't mention either on Archos website

Jaw dropped when you said HDMI. Yes, I found your info helpful.

Has anyone actually seen a 10s at Asda or received a 10s from Asda direct?
All I have seen is in store adverts for 10s, but when you look at the item it is a 10.

It's the same story online I'm afraid - ordered one on Sunday which has just been delivered. Very disappointed to find it's the 10 not the 10s.
Have contacted Asda Direct about this & discovered they have made a big mistake. It was always the 10 that they were offering & they're out of stock anyway. Website still shows the 10s description/spec.

I received a 10 as well not the 10s:x. It's not the first time I have bought from Asda and received a different model to that advertised.

They had 10s printed on outside of boxes - will check again in the morning

Checked - boxes appear to have been printed up for display by asda - don't look like they are orginal archos boxes - labled up as 10s with intel atom 1.6Ghz 1GB SD RAM, 160GB hardrive, Windows XP home, Integrated webcam..Looks like Asda have made a mistake and they've done it on all the merchandising. 10s on box with a picture of the archos 10 underneath.

I am sending the 10 back. Got a £10 ASDA voucher for the trouble.

Tnanks for taking the trouble to check this out jimmyblue.
I find it very difficult to accept that this is just a simple mistake on the part of Asda. There's something bigger going on here. I don't take kindly to being conned & I believe that's exactly what has happened here. Ok, I'm sure there will be no problems in obtaining a full refund from them for those that want it, but that's not the point. Asda have got some explaining to do - any ideas where we can go from here guys?

Hi Mostyn

you can contact trading standards who will inform you that if the item is not as discribed you are entitled to a full refund or if you are not able to get the same item for the same price (which is why you purchased it from asda) elsewere then asda have to provide the discribed product at the advertised price (this is what i was advised when i contacted them)

I am just waiting for mine to be delivered as the 10s is the one i want
delivered today and it is the 10 not 10s so will be contacting customer services tomorrow?
