Nice tablet, Archos usually are byt Android 2.2 has had very mixed results on PC tablets......

Still hot at this price...decent spec for a tablet
#2
Not sure this is any good but great price - £270 at PCW etc

Will be ebayable at profit WHEN I hate the build quality!!

Dont forget quidco.

My son wants one of these but the 16 GB, I've seen many good reviews. Quidco are offering 6% as well every little helps. Its reviewed on youtube against an Ipad and comes out pretty well the only thing that lets it down is the build quality.
#4
what about shipping costs?
#5
Just ordered the Archos 70 for £156 plus quidco. Easily sellable if i don't like it as redface said.

£12.60 for 2-3 day delivery, which is slightly more then I was expecting. I forgot about Quidco, so it might cancel some of that out.
#7
Delivery was just under £6 for me, and quidco tracked at £8.89

Brilliant deal btw, excellent price. Thanks

Was just about to post this! If you go to checkout then back to shopping trolley you can delete the £17 subscription fee and it makes the postage 5.90 :D

Where did you get the 70 for that price?
#13
Would this be suitable for a 9yr old, to play Club Penguin, Facebook etc?
Might get him this instead of a netbook.
#14
heat added - this is a great price. I wasted my time ordering with Simply Electronics who clearly didn't have the stock. Let's hope this comes through!
#15
Absolutely awesome price, hard pushed to find one for less than £220 anywhere else
#16
is this andoird 2.1 or 2.2?
#17

If you've not long ordered then make a link from Quidco to Pixmania in your browser (without clearing the cookies). The cashback often still tracks even if you do this after you've bought the item.

No Android marketplace availablity on this apparently.

Good price... unless it for a xmas pressie I would personally wait.
Better spec one's are just around the corner with RJ45 socket, GPS, 3G & even a digi TV tuner...
but may not see them until android gingerbread or possibly a later release honeycombe/android 3.

But who cares... instead of collecting dust when you upgrade just fill it with tunes & stick it on your wall & you have a nice Jukebox.

No that should be enough. Has worked for me in the past. Let us know if it tracks anyway.

I didn't buy one. I was torn between this & the Advent Vega & ended up picking up 2 Vegas, 1 for me & one for my lass. I must have times it right as stock has been really hard to get hold of.

I'm sure I heard they were planning on adding it in at a later date.

i think this is hot
i bought the 7 inch 7o internet tablet and its realy good paid £170 at gatwick airport just under 3 weeks ago
only downside its not very good at multitaking, maybe not enuff ram?
but if u go into settings and kill all the running apps the tablet runs fine and fast
also the added the market place and its alright
playing a movie at 720p gives a nice clear pictrue also the battery life is quite long

Gutted!!!
I just paid £260 from Curry's for this last week for my daughter's Xmas present. Worse still I only unboxed it yesterday to do the Marketplace hack so I can't even return it now!

Voted hot through gritted teeth!
#33
If the plastic is on the screen, you could take it back, i doubt they would even check.

Whats the quality of the screen like vladi ? You tried surfin on it ?
#35
Pixmania don't have a good rep. Google them and on here to see what is said about them.

I wouldn't want to send things back to France.

Had a little play indoors and it was fine. Very happy with the product itself and the Marketplace hack was simple enough. I held back on the 2.2 froyo update as there were a lot of mixed reviews on the Archos forums but even on 2.1 it was quick enough for browsing etc.

You're probably right mate but I try to avoid going into Curry's at the best of times never mind December! Strictly online for me these days, I'll just put this one down to experience.

The mains charger may not come with a UK plug but you can get an an adapter from poundland.

I've just read a 5 page thread on MSE forums entitled 'pixmania problems' spanning from 2008 to the present day. Some of it is pretty shocking.

I don't feel so bad now!

This is less then i paid for my A70IT and i got that cheap :(

Also with Quidco:
- £6 off when you spend £200 or more
- £18 off when you spend £500 or more

Price works out even better when you order 4 ;)
