Good price delivered Gary but out of stock when you try buying it.

Good find! Also available for Home Delivery so just ordered 2 for Xmas presents!

Quite a few branches near Camberley in Surrey have these in stock if anyone is interested .

The Trusted Reviews erm...review is a bit negative. However it was based on the £60 RRP

http://www.trustedreviews.com/mp3/review/2007/10/24/Archos-105-2GB-Media-Player/p3

I'm torn as I have a 2GB Zen Stone PLus for my son for Christmas, but this looks better on the surface
#7
Thanks - ordered one for my daughter

If you're also considering the Creative Zen Stone Plus you maybe interested in this Creative dock. £2.97 (collect at store), at least £15 elsewhere:

Got it already. I'm unsure whether to get this Archos and flog the Stone as this does video (albeit a bit limited) and is a much bigger step up from the 256MB job he has now

stick with the stone, is the video part just a novelty ? on a screen this size
#11
A lad a work had what I thought was one of these things and had downloaded movies on to it, I take it this wouldn't be able to do that?

The conclusion of the Trustedreviews article says "Archos' 105 isn't a bad player for the money. Just under £60 gets you an attractive, well-designed piece of kit, a reasonably-sized colour LCD screen and decent usability as well, all of which are hard to come by at this end of the market." So if they based it off £20, I'm sure it would get 10/10 for value for money!

i have reserved one at bishopbriggs, i don,t have a clue about these things! can this be placed in a docking station and do i need to buy anything else for it? thanks for any advice in advance!
#22

well now i think this is easier for me to understand! i have managed to reserve 2 and the docking station at motherwell all the ones nearer were sold out! thanks.

I'd personally go for the Archos over the Wharfdale. Archos are one of the biggest brands in France, whereas Wharfdale are cheap tat sold for Argos.

OK, its only 2gb, but the screen is good quality and build is first rate.

Voted hot.
#24
Argh! I now have 2 of these ordered from Currys but 2 of the Wharfedales reserved at my local Argos. These are just for Xmas gifts so might just go for the Wharfedales but the Archos looks much better quality.

Archos has a delivery charge but the Wharfedales are excluded from the 30 day argos returns policy.

Not sure what to keep!
#25
now am confused! i have 2 reserved at argos and 1 at curry,s!

Do you want an mp4 player for mp3? if the latter i recommend the sandisk sansa, £10 more than this player but looks better(imo) and is about half the size of it(slightly bigger than shuffle), quality is great and currys had the 4gb silver one for £40(not on there website) which i just bought. Its very quick when compared to my others as i got around 4MB/s on 1gb of songs and most are much slower (cheaper ones anyways) and its also backed with a 2 year warranty. It also has radio and voice recorder.

Good deal voted hot.

JUst so you know its slightly annoying to use it wioth the pc, you need to shove it on hold and hold the middle button while your connecting it to the pc, its good once its recognised though :P. USB cable is very short to so make sure you have access to front usb ports or a hub(or buy a new £1 cable). Other than that its really good, sound quality is nice along with volume control.

Connects via USB cable no probs for me  just tell it to ''charge battery'' or ''connect via USB'' Drag and drop from WMP, very easy. Its a well constructed great little player.

Good spot - just got one from Currys in Speke (Liverpool) today. A nice little companion for my Archos 605. Good build and sound quality (especially with better 'phones).

Latest firmware improves the user interface to make it look (and work) like the other 5th Gen Archos's (Archi?) - it can be downloaded from Archos website as mentioned elsewhere.
#36
Got one! Suits my needs, just need some quality headphones

Try some Creative EP630's - way better than supplied Archos 'phones. Should be less than a tenner at Amazon or Play

Thanks, would they be better than the ones play.com sell. Reduced from £39 to £7.99?
