Archos plus the dock !!

£177.85 including post.

Not the largest hard drive size but with the dock I think it's great value.

Good luck.

gotta be a grey import...

I've got the 30Gb machine with Dock and I rate it as the best gadget I've ever bought. A steal at this price
#3
I wonder why good quality phones like omnia would not replace these :whistling:
#4
is it flash memory or a hard drive?
#5
It is a hard drive.
There should also be some good prices around on these soon as the new model, although not supposed to be a direct replacement, is due out anytime.

Why do you say that?

Apparently the 40GB is exclusive to DSG. I got mine form Currys just before Xmas last year and with the dock it was 199.99.
That was a bargain, so this is super hot!

It's an excellent bit of kit.
No software to install on your PC, works with almost every video and audio format (codecs needed for some, but I find using free conversion software sorts nearly every issue).

HOT!

Still trying to get my head around these things. I know you can download songs onto it like an ipod, etc. And teh same for vid you have on your computer. Can you "record" direct from tv, sky+, etc, and how does that work. Can you get these with radio as well? After a pressie for my dad's 60th you see.

I am going to use it to stream from my pc. I do think you can use it to copy the content of your Sky+ box, and record aswell.

Check out the archos site.

Cheers

Cheers Sav, will give it a go...

The DVR docking station attaches to your TV and then you can record whatever it displays onto the Archos and then you can watch that anyway.

Got this exact same one myself, brilliant piece of kit! The docking stations are £60 to buy seperately!

Can you put your average divx film straight onto this or do you need to run it through a program first?
#12
Yes you can play 99.9% of AVI, DIVX films straight out of the box. If you want to play movie files which have AC3 audio you will need to buy the codec or convert the film before transferring it onto the Archos. This is the best media player I have ever owned

All up and running, superb item!!

If you can find the stock instore currys are selling the 40GB player for 89.97 and the dock for 49.97 so bout 140 for the two..... There is also the possibility of knocking them down a further 10% as they are clearance items (apparently if the price ends in .97 then managers are authorised to sell at 10% discount - but they only do this if persuaded/reminded about this!)
