hey, can anyone who owns this let us know how the WiFi performance on these things is like? in particular I'm interested to know the sleep policy - a lot of these cheap devices will switch off WiFi during sleep because of cheap hardware like the ZTE Blade. Want to buy one for Skype so always on WiFi is pretty important.

    Cheers

I managed to pick up two in Crawley earlier. Just went up to the phone shop and asked if they had any of these tablets and they said yes asked how much they were and he said £49 pounds and I said I will have two then please :-) The sales guy said they had sold a load in the last 2 hours! Havent had a chance to open them and use them but seeing as I was going to buy a chinese jobby from amazon at least here I have the receipt and can return to store if anything goes wrong within a year!

Nice one OP and its the first time I have managed to get a Tesco deal, dont usually shop there as cant stand the place. Merry Xmas Everyone!

Would it be possible to use a USB to HDMI cable or Micro-USB to HDMI cable (or both) to connect to my TV. I like the fact this can play silverlight (for Skygo)

Can't believe someone has actually bought one they are sale stock not to sold before boxing day!!

well its true , if there is none on boxing day when the doors open at my local Im taking this to the paper, it stinks to be honest, if i could afford better i would have bought it, my kids have very little this year,

    You serious?

This place gets funnier and funnier.........

He has a point. I have been told by my local store that they will have them on boxing day. That will be a 2 mile walk for me. If I get there at 9am on boxing day and they have none then I will play merry bleeding hell.

No, the guy that asked if she was serious has the valid point. She says her children will have very little this year, yet she is prepared to spend £100 on tablets that they 'need'?! There are plenty of things that she could buy for that price, prior to Christmas Eve. At the end of the day, if they sell out and don't have any stock I'm afraid it's tough cheese. That's life, move on. I'm sure the local paper won't have the slightest interest in that non-story.

As for a 2 mile walk - that's at most 30 mins, hardly an epic journey. It'll burn off your Turkey and mince pies!

Picked one up in Coatbridge Tesco Extra tonight. The guy on the counter said they had plenty through the back.

Perhaps tablets are specifically what the children have asked for and £50 a piece is not much to give 2 children a happy christmas.

As for the 2 mile walk, I was born with spina bifida and am disabled. Perhaps I should crawl there.

You really should stick to the deals on here rather than trying to judge other people.

Tesco had a product available and some stores were purposefully withholding making it available to any customer. This product has been available on sale for a while already. The product was not withdrawn and there were other stores openly selling it.

Meanwhile, some stores were complete Jobsworths and would not sell it AT ALL, not even at the original price (because they couldn't - the price had already been marked down). That is not consistent.

There is something not quite right here with this picture and so it deserves a complaint.

    katya1971
The question is that If somebody want to buy them and they are for sale, why they should not sell it?

Exactly why I will be complaining

bet Tesco are shaking in their boots knowing your complaint is on its way.

brilliant find...called into tesco earlier on the offchance they had them.....manager was showing a customer one i stepped in and asked if there was any left "yes, theres load through the back,i'll just get you one" was the reply....well chuffed!

would add heat if the deal wasnt expired!

People asking about screen quality, here's my opinion - I bought one this afternoon and it's going straight back the screen quality is that bad... extremely pixelated. Pictures and videos are distorted, and text is really fuzzy. A real shame because the rest of the product is good, but the screen is terrible.

Out of stock at Swan, Yardley - made me wait 20 minutes while they checked - not impressed.

Looks like the staff have already purchased them all. Typical!

Or customers, or there just wasn't many tablets there?

You just seem to be lashing out at any poster now like a drunken tramp accosting passers by. Get a life!

Hardly any poster..... Just the few that seem to think the reason tesco don't have stock of a certain product is due to the staff buying up everything.

    Pssst, it's not. . . . .

    Evidence?

To be fair, I like the cut of his jib. Too many people on here get all self-righteous and carried away with themselves and mistaken beliefs regarding consumer law! It's a deal - you're not legally entitled to it, get over it!

I have to agree that the screen resolution is awful. Not good, I bought a cheap Chinese tablet and it's lighter and has a 800 x 400 screen and is better than this.

So the Children specifically asked for this tablet on Christmas Eve? Unlikely. I wasn't judging, just stating a simple fact. If they wanted a £50 tablet, there are plenty available. The point you seem to have missed is that she doesn't really have any grounds for complaint if they tell her they don't have any on Boxing Day. I wasn't commenting on whether that was right or not, just stating a fact.

Coincidentally, my son is disabled and cannot walk far. I don't advise crawling there.
