Ok in the interests of Christmas spirit I'm returning the favour and passing on this deal in case it benefits others so please go easy. Also lets have no Ipad Vs Archos flame wars!.

BestBuy.co.uk currently have both the Archos 70 8GB and the Archos 101 16GB Tablets in stock (at time of writing) and they have a voucher that can be used to gain these little gems at 12.5% off their normal price i.e. £229.99 and £299.99 respectively.

This voucher can be used for more than just the above devices - see below :

12.5% off ALL MP3 and MP4 players (excluding Apple products) Voucher Code : MP125

This code is valid until 23rd December 2010.

There is enough on-line about these devices without me listing their specs so I won't go boring those that already know them!.

Don't forget this code can be used for every MP3 / MP4 player Best Buy sell (except Apple) so more than a bargain for those that want a different device!.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas!.

P.S. You can gain an extra 5% Quidco off these prices bringing them down even further to a nice price of £191.19 and £249.37 respectively!....now that is a happy Christmas!.

Similar in the sense that it's primary aim is, like the Ipad, to be a web-surfing tablet PC. The Archos devices tend to be a different breed though. If you love Apple gear you may not love these. If you love Google's Android O/S and play a lot of different types of movies then these are the business.

If anything I'd compare these more closely with the samsung Galaxy Tab. I'm not saying the Archos is better / worse than the Samsung but it's that kind of product and available at half the money....for us lesser paid mortals!.

No, the iPad's an overpriced one of these!!

Both iPad and Samsung a way overpriced IMO, for what they are... I see no reason why a tablet device should be no more thatn £250...

The seller had 50+ positive feedback. 100%. So seemed genuine. I was half tempted to get one, but i dont want the 250gb model. Its going to drain the battery quicker and adds to the weight and size of the tablet. But was such a bargain, £150 cheaper than RRP.

I'm with you on that. It's nice having that amount of storage but really adds to the weight and thickness not to mention battery life and issues due to knocks / jolts.

Having said that I fell asleep once with my old A605 80GB in my hand and the other half woke me up and I accidentally threw it a couple of metres and it both bounced well and still worked fine thereafter........wont be trying that a second time though!.
