Hi Edi, Good find!. Didn't realise that the Argos voucher promo was on. This product is out of stock in the 6-stores that i'd checked though :-(.
Still think that the Samsung SM940MW is a good buy but it's now £50.00 more expensive than this Acoustic Solutions panel.

Voted hot.

Velocity
The 3yr breakdown cover is £50 - is this brand reliable?

Hi Velocity. These products aren't manufactured by Acoustic Solutions believe it or not (which is cause for confusion considering they're marketed as Acoustic Solutions). Argos are direct importers of these products so a Google search doesn't find any more info' unfortunately (did not 1-2 weeks ago anyway). They (Acoustic Solutions) make reasonable quality 5.1 DVD-Player Home Cinema Combos and Hi-Fi Separates (to the best of my knowledge). Contacted Acoustic Solutions and Argos regarding these products and am none the wiser regarding who makes the LCD TVs that Argos are selling nor what company supports them although there's an Argos warranty. As a recommendation i'd say that the £50.00 for the 3yr breakdown cover would be better spent on buying a Samsung SM940MW that has a 3yr breakdown cover through the manufacturers. The Acoustic Solutions offering does look smart though admittedly. Perhaps if this product was let's say £20.00 cheaper it'd be a better buy but that's in my humble opinion.

The SM940MW has gone up in price since the 'up to 1/3rd off' promo however is still competively priced from Argos (from what I can gather):

Samsung SM940MW 19in HD Ready LCD TV.
529/1883
Half price LCD wall bracket when bought with this TV.

Hi Edi, No problem. Difficult question but a valid one. Don't think that Argos are mis-selling the brand. Guess that they must be using under license however this is confusing for customers IMHO as the products are not manufactured by Acoustic Solutions (no one seems to know who manufactures them!). Has anyone bought any of these products as i'd be interested to hear what they're like.

HTH.

Does anyone know if Argos take SKY Installs?

So people could get 1/2 price SKY HD.

That TV looks good.

Does anyone remember the Acoustic Solutions AS-8099 DVD players Argos did a year or two ago?

They were fantastic but suddenly stopped reading DVDs after several months, and Acoustic didn't have a clue on who made them so I had to just get a refund in the end :(

Just looked at a set top freeview box at Argos, a Fusion FRT 103 @ 19.99. for a Beatlemas pressie. 'tis nearly disposable at that price - on the other hand the Humax Fox at Empire Direct at around £56 delivered is rated highly. Any feedback appreciated.

I thought that 'Acoustic Solutions' were part of the same group that are known as Alba, Bush, Goodmans, etc. The same set up re Bush around the licencing, given that they were a seperate company years ago, yet were bought out for their name, but items are sold 'badged' with their name.

How many times do you go into Dixons, Argos, etc. and see the same telly with a different badge on the front? Argos had a 15" LCD TV that was exactly the same but badged both Alba and Bush, yet charged you £20 different - it was excatly the same!:geek:

Thanks Edi for the post,

I am thinking of buying the 3+2 recliner sofa’s for £599.

I also had in mind the Daytona at Land of leather but that’s out of stock now, which one is better?

In addition, I have had an email voucher from Argos, £5 off £50 and £10 off £100.
Can I get further discount if I spend £599 or just the £10.
There is the option of paying after 9 months on this offer.

Thanks

Hotuk :-

For any spend over £100 you will get only one £10 voucher unless you can split the order into several £100s which is not possible with a Sofa

It might be worth checking if you can get the voucher when buying gift vouchers, if so, buy 5 £100 vouchers seprately and 1 £50 voucher, this would give you £550 worth of vouchers you bought and £55 worth of free vouchers. You could then purchase the sofa's and have a £5 voucher left over.

Not all sales people will give you the 'free' vouchers when purchasing gift vouchers, but if you are perssistatant you should be albe to find one.
