Voted cold, simply for the quality of these "cheap" frames. I bought two a few weeks back from argos...a 7" frame for £40 and a 10" Kodak W1020 for £135.

The cheap one went back because the resolution is poor, the display is poor, and usability is terrible. Plus Argos dont seem to take anything back these days unless it is "broken". so stay clear of cheap frames...better to have nothing than one of these in my opinion.

HOWEVER, the W1020 is Wifi, accepts RSS feeds, and can access FrameChannel accounts. It is the dogs of digital frames iMO.

Which? report classes the 8.5" frame as a Don't Buy

This Argos own-brand digital photo frame is one to avoid. Though its fairly easy to operate, image quality from the 8.5-inch screen is awful.
The whole point of a digital photo frame is to display your pictures. Therefore reasonable image quality is a prerequisite. Unfortunately, its one that this frame is totally unable to meet. Image quality is shocking photos lack clear colours or contrast and theres no uniform brightness across the screen; instead there are different shades and spots in the corners.
Ease of use is better, if still nothing special, though again the frames speed is a letdown it takes almost eight seconds to display large (2MB) photos.
This Argos frame has few features. Theres no internal memory, so youll need to leave your memory card in the frame, and no remote control. It can be wall mounted, but forget about advanced functions such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or even USB connections.
At least the frames green credentials arent too bad. Power consumption is fairly low and, unlike some frames it includes a proper on/off switch allowing you to turn it off completely when it s not in use, rather than just putting it into stand by.
Pros: Very little, power consumption is quite low
Cons: Terrible image quality, few features, slow

Thats confusing isn't it? Should just be:

# Screen resolution 480 x 234 pixels

just because there's 3 colours for each pixel you cant times the resolution by 3 can you??
