thanks

butisnt it £39.99 as the tv's were sold for £199? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/StaticDisplay/includeName/BCtable.htm#TV

This sometimes happens as head office don't override the original warranty price when the tv is reduced. I bought one of these tv's-didn't buy the warranty though. May be worth buying for £50 though.

interesting... for £40 it might actually be worth it

Better still if you managed to get it sub £200. Already got the £20 back think they may be a little miffed tomorrow asking for the other tenner:roll:

Also you may qualify for the £5 gift voucher if you take out the warranty from tomorrow.

Thanks for the info.

Probably worth £39.99 for 3 years.

Beware of Argos trying to charge you insurance/warranty based on the full price of items when it should be based on the sale price. It's happened to me a couple of times, who knows how many people they have overcharged. If won't offer it at the reduced price - speak to their head office.

Dont need to speak to H/O just point out the price in the catalogue . I`m sure there will be someone there team leader or member of management who can see that the new bulletin has not been raised and put the correct catalogue number through, saves you the cost of the phone call aswell

As long as it's within 45days of original purchase.

ok cheers thats what i thought and it is :)

if you buy it after buying the tv, you will have to take back into store to show them, i rung them and that is what they told me.

Receipt should suffice.

"Breakdown Cover can be taken out when you purchase your item in store, over the phone or online, but you also have up to 45 days in which to purchase it, just return to store with your item's till receipt."

1 year accident cover also included.

"FREE Accidental Damage Cover, EVEN if you don't buy Breakdown Cover

Most manufacturer's guarantees do not include accidental damage cover, so protect yourself against accidental breakage for the first year with our cover - but remember it won't protect you against breakdown."

Be careful. The VERY cheap end of electrical products is generally the least reliable. A great price for this TYPE of product, but if you financially have the option, choose a better brand. You are usually making a better long-term decision. Extended warranties are also usually not worth a great deal, especially on static electrical goods. Mind you, if you choose to buy a Beko, you might get more use from it! My advice, for what it's worth!

I did this and the member of management called agreed with the sales assistant. She only "allowed it on this occasion" when I pointed it out in their sale booklet. I checked with head office and they said I was right. Like I said, some of the managers get it wrong.
