Now Working

Use the code C2ARG9S at checkout to get this price.

There's a bonus which you MIGHT get with this deal.
Although the ebay page states a 12 month Argos warranty this model normally comes with a pre-registered 3 year warranty.

The other thing to take into consideration is the amount Argos have so far sold of this product. Could well be just an overstock rather than refurbished but of course that's a risk you take.

Whatever the case this is a very nice laptop for the £300.98 price tag.
Looks nice as well with an "engineered" top rather than something which attracts dust and fingerprints.

Quite a good one for the price.

Fantastic deal, I bought one myself this evening. It's a bargain with the one year guarantee, so if the warranty does happen to be any longer it's a red hot deal!

Argos were selling these for £399.99 a couple of weeks back, but that has now gone up to £429.99 I believe (albeit that is new with a definite 3-year guarantee).

good spec for £300 don't forget quidco

Hope so as well but anyone buying one needs to factor in the risks to avoid any possible disappointment :)

#9
Good price for a i3 laptop
#10
Anyone know if this would play Sims 3 ok as I'm after a laptop for the girlfriend?
#11
At the checkout I got £300.98 inc code

Now I have received email stating

ITEM
ACER ASPIRE 5741A 15.6IN LAPTOP REFURB (360316199959)
1 x £329.99
POSTAGE AND PACKING
£3.99
TOTAL
£333.98

Very confusing. on the paypal receipt it says £300.98

But when I checked my paypal acc shows £333.98 deducted.:|

Sounds well dodgy!

Good deal at 300 - not so good at 330 considering it's a refurb...
#13
I bought this same model 5 months ago and it has broken down twice in that time and am still yet to get it back the second time. First time was harddrive failure and I am suspecting again it is the same problem...... I doubt it will play sims as the graphics card is not good for 3d graphics.
#14
hmmm good deal but not sure whether to buy now - can anyone else confirm if this is £300 or £330?

code is applied to paypal payment, hence it will state 330 on the invoice
#16
Yes as the member above states the code appears to be a Paypal / Ebay promotion rather than an Argos Outlet one.
If you go into the details of the Paypal Transaction you can see the split. Checking your funding source should show you that only £300.98 has been taken out.

Mine is showing as a pending transaction on a credit card but I can't check the actual amount as it's mixed in with other pending.

Someone else should be able to confirm though ??

Hope that helps.

I only have £2 in my paypal account but when i got to add funds it says itll take 5-7 days...but it says i can make payments from my bank account without adding funds to my paypal balance. Im Confused - does this mean i can pay through paypal now even though it only has £2 in it?

Yes, normally, although make sure you have the money in your bank account to fund the payment.

The following link shows the Ebay promotion page for this offer for those interested/worried.

I don't have any funds in my Paypal account. When I use Paypal for purchases they just debit my bank account and transfer it on to the retailer.

You will only be charged £300 (or whatever it is after the discount). But the billing in paypal will show the actual cost of the item. Either the Paypal or Ebay will pay the discounted money to the buyer... :)

And I believe that the deal is now Expired.... :(

does anyone know how reliable the argos outlet is? Both in terms of original product and returns?

I've used them a few times with no problems including a refurb notebook which came in it's original box and was as good as new. IT had definitely been out of the case but other than that unblemished.

Their communication isn't the best but once you have a dispatch email you can track the order on their shipping page. LINK

I also had to send an item back which was wrongly described and the process went through without a problem and their Customer Cervice phone line was excellent.

That's my experience but you must understand that buying anything refurbished carries some risks and everyone has a story to tell about good/bad service.
Until I receive bad service I'll continue t use them without concern.

Hope that helps.

This deal is EXPIRED by the way. Not sure why it isn't showing expired, can others press the expire button please.
#31
Looks like it has sold out.
#32
The 3 year warranty is pre-registered with Acer so it might apply to the refurbished model if it wasn't registered to the 'original' purchaser. Otherwise you can try manually registering at the Acer site.

I bought mine 'new' for £369 last week and that included Nortons Internet Security 2010 in a sealed DVD that I sold for £20 on ebay, so I effectively paid £349 for brand new with 3 year warranty.

I did buy an MSI Netbook via this route and it came with a faulty keyboard but the keyboard was replaced without fuss - it just took another 7 days! Good supplier so don't worry about their service.

Amazing how some HUKD members are more privileged than others, this deal gets more hot although it is sold out and should be expired long time ago. Some admin felt asleep on his keyboard I think :P

Thank you Hottoshop, your reply is really appreciated :) Might give them a shot if I see anything in the future!
