New prices today - now the cheapest in store 'collect today' price in the UK?

Even cheaper if you've got one of the vouchers they send you from time to time - I've got a £5 off £50 as it was my birthday recently. Also, pay on Argos card and you get up 6 months 0% credit if you get 32GB or 64GB version.

Also, if you've got Nectar points hanging around, why not use them to buy it?

Not sure if its just the stock from Argos, but i've gone thru 3 of the 32GB.
Screen keeps freezing.

Keep taking back - and yes they give me another one, but now i'm fed up, next time will ask for refund.

Tempting, but a friend is off to Florida in April so I'll hang on for a better deal from there.

I still think these are too darned expensive!

Won't get it for much cheaper over there, I bought a 8GB last summer from Wal-Mart and when I got home I'd pretty much paid the same.

Was thinking about replacing my 8 gig IPOD touch with a 32 gig 3rd gen, but think i'd rather put the 200 odd quid toward an Iphone now that 02 will unlock them for you for £15.

You would need an exchange rate of $1.60 to the pound just to get it for this price. Don't forget you'll pay 6% sales tax too.

Which you can claim back at the airport.

Hmmm, this is £3 - £4 cheaper than Amazon.co.uk...
But, okay, you get to pick it up today.

If you can be patient, and don't mind shopping online, I posted a HotUKDeal showing how to get the 32Gb version for £182.72 from www.very.co.uk

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/606384/32gb-ipod-touch-3g-dixons-199-49-wi

£24 of extra cash in your pocket, if you don't mind shopping around..?
I'd say that's a better deal.

IIRC, the 3rd gen is 4x faster in terms of processing power & has 2wice the amount of RAM.
The 3rd Gen also has Bluetooth, external volume controls, microphone via headphones, external speaker, chrome finish around the edges, & probably a few more upgrades.

Well worth it imo - i'm trying to save up for one now :)

please remember that you only get these additions on the 32gb or 64gb versions. the 3rd gen 8GB is identical to the 8gb 2nd gen model (well done apple for ripping off people).

all the "3rd gen 8gb" model has over the 2nd gen one is newer firmware. the hardware etc is identical.

Got a 16gb 1st gen off ebay for £100 and absolutely love it.
Although I now wish I'd have saved for a couple more months and got the 32gb 3rd gen one.
Although if I got that, I'd no doubt wish I'd saved for a couple more months and got an Iphone.

They're ace anyway - my PSP was my previous favourite toy, and I can't see me using that much anymore.

tip - favourite app is plugplayer, which streams music and video off my Readynas. It's ace!

£4 cheaper then the deal I posted last night and picked up the last one from New Oxford Street today. Hot from me

IF (and a big IF) you know anyone flying out of the country, these are £117 in Dixons, tax free. I enquired yesterday and they said the price had come down (from £126 or thereabouts) because they were price matching Amazon, however I cant find this on Amazon.
Cheers

thx for info

we've just got back from CEX in middlesbrough.the wife wanted to trade in a load of stuff so she could get a 64GB touch to replace her 16GB 2nd gen touch.

the 64GB touch is £255 & is actually brand new! seems that most of the 50 odd instock online & around the country are new!

so an even better deal & can also get ride of your unwanted junk!
#23
Might buy one of these. I presume I can just copy my existing MP3's onto one of these?

Don't fancy ripping all my CD's again. :w00t:

Don't forget if you're a regular Sainsbury shopper, you can redeem your nectar points in store at Argos. Took my MSI Wind U130 below the £200 mark when I redeemed 30 quids worth last month :)

Hi,

Are you sure? I bought a "3rd gen 8gb" from Argos on Friday for £137 and it has external volume control blue tooth and voice recording (which I haven't tested as earphones that come with it doesn't have MIC).

Is this at the airport? Do all airports have a Dixons?

Just got one from PC World for £203 using their price match on the 32GB version.

Cheers OP.

Heathrow has one in every Terminal, which is where I saw the deal. They also sell the 32gb one for £194.

Looking to replace my 16gb 2nd gen Touch that I had stolen, really wish they made a 16gb 3rd gen but they missed that capacity out for some reason. Don't really want to stretch to £200 for a 32gb that I would never fill.

You can always for for a 16GB refubished one from apple here:

http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/specialdeals/ipod?mco=OTY2ODY2NQ

They have the first gen iPod touch 16GB for £152.24 and the 16GB (2nd generation) for £162.00.

Why is this hot? You can get them cheaper else where for example 64gb @ 269.00 http://www.elecosave.co.uk/ipod-touch-64-gb---new-152375-p.asp?fm_c=38&fm_key=01dac0db4f78c1f97b7002cccd748e4f&fm_src=froogle

So I dont see how this is a hot deal when loads of suppliers have it at the same price or cheaper?

So its 99p cheaper until you add delivery. Even if delivery was free, you couldnt walk in off the street and pick one up (maybe if your local to it). I'm not a fan of Argos but the price/conviniance makes it Hotter in my opinion

For anyone considering updating from a 1st gen (can't comment on 2nd gen) to a 3rd gen 32 or 64GB....don't hesitate. The speed increase is incredible. Really happy with my purchase.
