Yes you would, as long as you say to them you want 3 x £100 gift vouchers in 3 seperate transactions. There's no rule against that and I've done it plenty of times... much to the delight of people waiting in the queue behind me

completely off topic, but for a minute I thought the thread started by saying "Argos MEAL deal" rofl, my mistake :)

Not all stores will allow you to do this, you are not supposed to get vouchers from buying vouchers.

Im tempted to sell my 60gb model (which is now apparently rare and goes for £400+ on ebay) and get this. Making me £100 quid + 2 games

That's a shame for those that live near stores that do not allow it then :-(

In my local store, on the odd occasion I've done it the cashier was simply reading the prompts on his/her till that I should be given a gift voucher. Looks like it's not the same for all stores then.

I got a 60G with 2 games from Argos, Motorstorm and Resistance fall of man. Took the games back today, said didn't have a receipt and they gave me a gift card with the full amount, £39.99 each, so bought another 2 better games. Got COD 4 and PES 2008.

The PS3 isn't work a quid in my opinion, there's hardly anything worth playing on it still, the 40gb version is worth even less!

This is a deal for the people that do want PS3s, not whether it is worth it because that will just encourage another 360 vs PS3 debate.

Exactly, if your hatin' don't post!

Not as good as my PS3 with Resistance and Motorstorm for £277.49 from Argos. Got away the reserve and collect 'trick' here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118116

**ignore that, just tried adding both games and it still comes up as £299.99.

There were two deals. One which allowed you to add one or the other, whilst the second offer allowed you to add both. Each deal was priced in at £299. :giggle:

And as I said, you can usually take a game back to Argos without the receipt and they will give you the full amount on a gift card. Just don't open the seal.
#23
the t&c on the leaflet in front of the cashiers just says 'not valid when using gift cards to buy gift cards'. my till monkey said it wasnt on vouchers so i pointed this out, he got the store manager over and she ok'd it :) only on £50 of vouchers though - then got the other voucher when buying an espresso machine + something small with the origonal vouchers - result, one £80 espresso machine for £50 with another thing worth £15 and a £5 gift voucher free :)

Apart from having a slightly bigger HDD, a couple of extra USB ports and a card reader, the main feature of the 60GB PS3 is that it has the backwards compatibility of playing PS2 games. For people like me that never had a PS2, that's not an issue and the other features aren't worth paying the extra for.

Anyway, the 60GB has been discontinued.
#25
I have an old PS2, but bought a 40GB PS3.

The reasons for this are:

I wont need more than 2 USB ports
I wont need card readers
I will have to upgrade the hard drive on either machine, so doesn't matter on the HDD size
I have kept my PS2 slim now, so have a DVD player and a PS2 console in my 'games room' upstairs, which I didn't have before.
Plus, who really buys a PS3 and doesn't play PS3 games on it? I can't stand playing PS2 games already as they're just rubbish in comparison!

Btw, I bought my 40GB on it's own, for £255. I'm very happy.
#26
PulseTurbo, where did you manage to find a ps3 for £255? please let me know.
#27
Does any one know if you are able to back up game saves, buddie details, dowloaded games etc from a 60gb PS3 and then transfer it across to a 40gb PS3?
