Just picked up one of these as it's a tad chilly in our lounge. It was £15.99 last night (down from £19.99) and has dropped another £2 today! Bargain price, has great reviews and with 3 heat settings you don't have to have it blasting out so won't cost a fortune. Lowest setting is 750w.

Good little heaters these,
I bought the one with a timer for £25
#2
Cracking deal but absolutely none available anywhere that i can find :(
Really wanted 1 of these but looks like i'm outta luck.
Tried 40 stores but none had any available!
#3
Does this one have a fan?
#4
YES - i've tried as well.
None in the Leicester area !!! :x
#5
Current selling price valid until 22/01/2010

Plenty of time for more stock to arrive :)
#6
Fingers crossed!

Shame they don't do an "e-mail me when its back stock".
#7
hot, but no stock any where near me

Hot from me, i was going to pick this one up (http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/572523/oscillating-upright-fan-heater-2-4k?page=3), waited till 12am last night so i could reserve for thursday when i could pick it up and it rose to £18.99 at 12am.
No stock near me of this but can be ordered for home delivery and only works out at 80p more, can anyone advise which is the better heater based on that?
I know the other one has a fan which would be useful come summer but the heater looks rather small compared to this one. I also like the fact this has a lower setting of 750w compared to 1200w.

People who are looking and are unable to find stock - why don't you request a text for when it is back in stock at a store near you? Details below....(cat number is 4151773)

This one. I've used....

Halogen, good if you sit right in front of it and don't mind being blind.
Oil filled rads, take forever to heat the room and never seem to get it that hot.
Upright Convection, can heat a room in minutes, better with a fan for the initial warmup.

Thanks for that, rep added.

One more thing, this would be fine running in this extension lead with just a tv and a freeview box won't it, even at highest settings? I believe 13amps * 240volts would give me 3.12kW to work with? And obviously the TV and freeview box won't take anywhere near 1.12kW.
(I would go for the 8 way extension at half the price but the 1m cable is too short)

Well my gf lives about 15 miles from me and i work about 30 miles away from my house.
My mate who i work with also lives about 20+ miles away so i was quite hopeful i'd be able to find at least 1 in an argos somewhere.
#14
hot deal but none near me shame
#15
No stock as usual around the 3 or 4 stores in this area - voted hot though as great price :)

Managed to reserve the last one from my nearest ... ideal for the attic room.

At about 20p per hour at least this will seriously damage your wallet if left on for a while.
At the lowest setting (750w) the cost of 8p ph may not be such a burden IF it gets or keeps the room warm enough.
I am just gald I have a decent gas fire to use at the mo as even on low the room soon warms up.

I bought this heater last year for £25 to use in my old flat. It was really useless, and cost an absolute fortune. I wouldn't recommend.

What you have failed to take into account is that its not going to be on for the whole hour. It has a thermostat so you can expect a 50/75% duty cycle depending on room size possibly less if you keep the doors shut etc. Relatively speaking they're not that expensive to run. Certainly not as bad as the old school wire wound heaters, now they DO cost a fortune to run.

My 10 nearest stores are out of stock...

I'll settle for wearing an extra layer of clothing indoors, cheaper and better for the environment.

All electric heaters are 100% efficient - you get the same amount of heat for the money you put in. Convector, fan, oil-filled, halogen.. they're all the same. The only difference is in how that heat is distributed. Using daytime-rate electricity for heating is highly expensive - don't blame the heater.

Even more so if you're on E7.

Indeed - the only "cheat" is to use a storage heater. These don't break the laws of physics: they merely store heat acquired at a cheap rate for use later.
#24
Currently out of stock:whistling:

Get an electric blanket.

Or use a table lamp with a normal light bulb in it and put it near you.
I have a 60 watt lamp I use when reading. The heat/glow from it being close to you warms you up a little. Near that lamp I feel perhaps a degree or two warmer.

I suppose it is like the infrared heater you get in pubs. It may be very cold outside but you feel ok as the radiant heat hits your skin/cloths.
#26
:cry:tut none near me this would have been ideal for my we tourer for when we go away as it wouldent be my lecky that we would be using
#27
Argos seem to be out of stock on all convector heaters (at least for delivery). Can't think why :whistling:
#28
i have two of these one in lounge one in bedroom they are great for instant heat...i live in a huge victorian build and it can heat my 19ft * 13ft lounge in about half an hour to the point i need to turn it down...i do have new insulation in loft so guess that helps a litlle
#29
Just a heads up for those saying these are out of stock, as they are currently showing out of stock for me too, but I was in Argos last night collecting the Scene It 2 deal that I had reserved from an earlier posting and they had dozens of these sitting in the middle of the floor piled here, so whether the fact that they are on the floor messes with the stock system or not I don't know, but if you are after one of these and have an Argos near by it may be worth a check.

And apologies if I'm still wrong :-p

Can't get one anywhere in North East Wales as far as Manchester. Have registered for the text when back in stock and e-mail. However, they are selling what looks like the same heater in Homebase for £19.99. I have ordered one for collection in store. You probably all know the answer to this but I'm sure Homebase and Argos are owned by the same company ?
