I'm a student and I've bought a few items out of argos' value range and this is again a recent purchase which I think is a bargain. On the Argos website it was 4 out of 5 stars from 40 reviews and I have never had a problem with it. It is generally a very easy and good iron to use!

The specs:

* 1200 watts.

* 10 - 20g/min steam output.

* 130ml water tank capacity.

* 1.5m power cord.

* Weight 0.7kg.

* Non-stick aluminium soleplate.

* Temperature control light.

* Uses tap water.

* Front fill.

* Water level indicator.

* Water spray.

* Variable steam.

* Self-clean.

Got this a couple of months ago for £3. It's not great to be honest but what do you expext for that price? Does the job for me and good if you don't iron a lot but want one around for when you need it. If you need to iron a lot though I'd say it's worth spending a bit more. Voted hot.

A student who needs an iron?? Surely that's wrong.
Great price for a cheap and reliable iron.

Yes - I agree - bought my son an iron to start his student days - and even though he has long finished his degree - it remains unused in the box - 6 years later :p

I bought one of these a couple of months ago when it was £6 ish and you need the iron at full temp to iron shirts and it wouldnt iron my duvet cover no matter how many times I tried! I'm probably going to buy a better one!
