This is a very small capacity one at just 2 litres. Would only do up to a two person meal at best.

For family use [say up to 4 people] you'd need 3.5 litre size upwards IMHO.

I think Tesco were selling their 3.3 litre own branded one recenty for a tenner. Yep. found it:

Bought this 'original' CrockPot one myself, which gets really good reviews for £17.48 but is currently OOS http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-1034.aspx - haven't used it yet mind :)

What is the power usage like on these things? I have always worried that they cost a bit to run and about leaving such a cheap electrical product on in the house whist I am out.

The 3.5l one has been reduced also to £9.59.

Thanks Op

Unlike most kitchen appliances, that get shoved to the back of the cupboard, a slow cooker really is a convenient, economical and healthy way to cook, especially at this time of year. There's nothing better than coming home to the smell of lovely slow cooked casserole (add dumplings for the last 30 minutes, hmm), chilli, or even curry!
Great deal!

Thanks for the heads up Lilyevesmummy
I bought the Asda one for £7, its quite large at 3 litres, 150/180w.
All I need now are some easy recipes to begin.
