seems like a good deal, we bought a different one for quite a lot more but i know there's different quality versions.

Regardless it's a great price for a hd cable, so i've voted hot. :)

voted cold - as this looks like a really cheap poor quality cable- i would only ever buy the official products for any console or if you want really high end stuff buy the monster cable

Well its not bad for a fiver and if it upscales your current display then its a fiver well spent, the qualitys not bad either its obviously not a thick monster cable but with monster cables you get monster prices, let me guess £25 - £45 ? and this is just £5 so a bargain methinks, you cannot compare a £5 cable to a monster cable.

Does anyone know if this whats needed to get the best out of the hansprees that everyones getting at the mo?

For the highest quality you're going to want to keep the signal as a digital signal - ie Xbox 360 Elite with its HDMI output.

One step down from that is to use COMPONENT ie "1 x YPbPr" which is just what this cable is for.

An alternative would be 'VGA'/computer style connnection but that will usually be limited to some computer resolutions whereas the Component is likely to allow to allow greater flexibility.

Most HD sets have a "component" "YPbPr" input with 3 RCA phonos for the picture (+ others for sound) - though often only one set - so you'd need to work out whether you could devote it to your Xbox360 rather than some other device.

Meanwhile while you're thinking about it at least reserve one of these from Argos so you have one if you do decide to plump for it - and can always let the reservation lapse if you decide not to bother.

Whats the difference between this and the component cable that comes with the 360?
#7
Wicked, cheers for the advice.

would this lead work with the softmoded xbox1 to output hd or is the input of that not the same as the 360 one.

XBOX and XBOX 360 cables differ in size at the XBOX end, so no.

AFter all they really want you to have to buy cables!

Isn't this what comes witht he xbox 360 anyway? Mine came with a cable that looks like this as I have it plugged in via Component at the moment. It also has a setting for HD as well.
#11
You get a component cable with the 360 as thats what I'm using for mine.
#12
You only get a bundled component cable with the premium consoles.
#13
Ah ok, didnt realise they only came with premium 360's.

Just seen this posted over at Digital Spy but luckily did a search for this first!

I guess that as the new Xbox 360 will have an HDMI out that they are now unlikely to have a new cable that will have the standard xbox to HDMI cable.
