Next best i can see is £24.98.
Prepare to take warfare to a new level with an incredibly realistic war simulation.

In ARMA II, you're part of an elite squad of American soldiers sent behind enemy lines to restore peace to Chernarus, a Soviet country ripped apart by civil war as warring rival factions fight to take control of the troubled state. In an epic story full of plot twists and turns, it becomes clear that the troubles plaguing Chernarus are deeper than anyone thought and the battle intensifies to extreme levels.

Building upon the foundations laid by its predecessor, ARMA II features refined graphics; unscripted AI opponents that ensure no skirmish ever plays out in the same way; 225sqkm of gameplay area including more than 50 different towns and villages, alongside lush forests and wind-swept beaches; 136 different vehicles variants including helicopters, tracked armoured vehicles, boats and even bicycles and 81 weapon variants.

When does it come out on a console? I've only got a lowly Macbook Pro so no good for me - even using Bootcamp before anyone starts!
Great price for a sure to be great game! Heat added.
thx for the headsup

i'm after this game, hope the release date is accurate.

Have some heat

also it won't be coming out on console it's only for PC and I imagine you would need a rather beefy pc to run it well.
Great Stuff!

Hope its easier to run than the last Arma, i eneded up having to run it in windowed mode otherwise i just got a black screen.

I seem to remember reading somewhere it was x-box bound sometime later this year.
Console Release

There are various possible ways to look at a console release of ARMA 2: some hard core PC gamers don't like it much and are worried it may dumb down the game somehow. Others are happy to be able to look forward playing such a complex combat simulation on consoles.

Anyway, for Bohemia Interactive it is the only logical step. PC gaming is declining overall, especially (but not only) in North America. The PC platform suffers because of many severe compatibility and stability problems and the transition to Windows Vista does not help the platform in this regard over the short term. The good thing is that we are already experienced with consoles after our long struggle with Operation Flashpoint Elite for Xbox . We already know what we like and dislike regarding the development (and playing) of a combat simulation game on console, and with this hard earned knowledge we feel in the case of ARMA 2 this multiplatform approach is not only a commercially viable move but it also helps the game to be better on both platforms. All we want is to make it a more accessible and streamlined game than the current ARMA is. For that we do not need and do not want to remove anything that made Operation Flashpoint and ARMA so immersive and our focus on realism in the sense of open simulated game world will remain unchanged.
ok i stand corrected but i can only see preorders for the pc version
I briefly played the xbox 1 port of operation flashpoint and just didnt like it!
It just seemed wrong on a console with its looks and using a controller.
Maybe I would have liked it if I hadnt played the PC version so mush first :-D
Brilliant price, what are Zavvi like for delivery on launch day, anyone pre ordered with them before?

Any reviews out there for this title yet?

Excellent preorder price (been waiting a while for this to go under £20). And its a big game. Buggy as hell, but loads of fun. Don't forget 4% Quidco

Its out in Germany; impressions are
The only review I've seen was in German. It scored 83%. Early days. And its been patched already. But that won't be the last. Bargain at this price IMHO.
If you liked Armed Assault, you'll love it as it's an improvement over that. If, like me, you preferred the original Operation Flashpoint, stick with that; the first person movement is still awkward in comparison.

You'll need a beefy spec PC to get the most out of it too.
