Great price on this, only just came out a couple of weeks ago!

Prepare to take warfare to a new level with an incredibly realistic war simulation.

In ArmA II, youre part of an elite squad of American soldiers sent behind enemy lines to restore peace to Chernarus, a Soviet country ripped apart by civil war as warring rival factions fight to take control of the troubled state. In an epic story full of plot twists and turns, it becomes clear that the troubles plaguing Chernarus are deeper than anyone thought and the battle intensifies to extreme levels.

Building upon the foundations laid by its predecessor, ArmA II features refined graphics; unscripted AI opponents that ensure no skirmish ever plays out in the same way; 225sq km of game play area including more than 50 different towns and villages, alongside lush forests and wind-swept beaches; 136 different vehicles variants including helicopters, tracked armoured vehicles, boats and even bicycles and 81 weapon variants.

Features include:

Improved AI for team mates and enemies
225 squared kilometres of mapped terrain to explore all built using real world topographical data
Dynamic conversations and events that shape the storyline
Incredibly realistic game engine thats been used by the military for combat simulations
Built in Mission Editing tools allows you to design your own missions
Advance Weapons and Ballistics Simulation using real-world data
Extensive online multiplayer modes

Thought this was still full of bugs at the moment?
I want it but was going to hold off till it was properly patched.

Please correct me if i'm wrong, as i certainly dont want to thread spoil, especially given this is a great price :)

- 2.16 Ghz Core 2 Duo
- 2.5 Gb DDR2
- Nvidia 7950 GTX

lol pc specs are insane!my 1st pc was a cyrex(intel whooped em) 166mhz 8mb ram and 2.1gb hdd with 1mb video mem and it jus about ran red alert, voted hot jus wish I had a pc capable of playing it!
#13
Runs like crap on my Core Duo 2.4GHZ with 8800GTX and XP. Ok, these are below min reqs but Far Cry 2, as an example, played fine with this spec.
#14
Demo seems to run pretty damn well on my E2140 (at 2.66Ghz), 4GB RAM and 8800GTS 640MB. Had to tweak it a little bit and it doesn't look as spectacular as it would on faster machines but perfectly playable and still manages to look good.
#15
Runs great on my massive c**k....

I thought I'd join in whilst other people were waving theirs about.
#16
Ordered before I saw this. But heat added anyway.

I think RAM is very important for this game and you need to mess around with the settings to get the right ratio for your computer. For example on some computers lowering certain settings DECREASES performance even though it should Increase it!

I'm playing on a ATI 4870 512MB, 4GB DDR2 RAM and a Q6600 Quad. I can't play the game on max settings but Its decent enough. As for bugs, I've been playing co-op quite a bit and have yet to come across any.

But like i said before it is a brilliant game and as close to Operation Flashpoint than any other game has gotten to date. Well worth £18. I paid £25 for it!

Good Spot!

Really like the demo, great game, so ordered and added heat
Definitely need a monster pc to play at max settings, especially at my res of 1900x1200.

I saw the deal and I just KNEW you'd be here, Jaffo :)

I'm tempted by the deal but the demo didn't appear to have anything better, gameplay-wise than ArmA or OFP for that matter. It feels like more of a console-port than ArmA.

Is this deal available in store too?

Not sure. I bought it when it was £24.99 on the GAME website and the deal was instore too. So i think theres a good chance this one is instore too.

i would suggest downloading the demo before purchasing.
this is nothing like battlefield or COD and it does still have a lot of bugs....just download the demo and im sure you will come across enough.

its a very ambitious game and the developers deserve some credit for it.... but i myself will be waiting about a year after its been released and the game is in a more stable state before purchasing. oh it will probably be about 5 quid then too.

Given Bohemia's history I wouldn't expect ArmA2 to be anymore stable a year down the line although there will be hundreds of great user made mods by then.
