Arran Aromatics are punting out last year's Christmas Candles at £6.50, down from £25. Whether they were ever worth £25 is moot, but I've seen what they sell these and similar for in John Lewis, so there we are. 35 hours burn time.
These are high quality candles, which have a silver pattern etched out on the inside of the glass which makes them really rather beautiful when they burn. Mandarin and Pettigrain is a nice candle but not exactly Christmassy. I'm not very keen on the diffuser. I ADORE Nutmeg Embers, very Christmassy, but not very nutmeg, more frankincense.
A lot of the stuff which appears to be in the sale is actually out of stock, but it is a weird website, where stuff goes in and out of stock. "After the Rain" is a powdery rose scent, which no one will dislike and which certainly has its fans, but which I find a bit inoffensive. (I have a friend who is very into wine. The worst thing he can say about it is that it is "accessible") The travel candles are all 5cl, so pretty small. Amberwood was quite disappointing, in so far as it doesn't really smell of much at all.
Anyway, it is all nice (as seen in the bathrooms of upmarket hotels all over Scotland) and would make excellent presents.
I would like to hear people's opinions about the other scents as I don't really know them and being a small perfume house, reviews are scant.
