One of my favourite films.
I don't have it but I have seen it so many times I almost know it off by heart.
I had a very ghostly experience in an empty bar ( Apart from me and the barmaid ( who happened to be called Roxanne ( which is a name I love ))) in New York in 1984 when the theme song came on the juke box all by itself.
I won't be buying this, but voted hot anyway.

True story.
I was in this bar chatting to this barmaid called Roxanne.
( I loved The Police song and since then have always loved the name.
My eldest girl's middle name is Roxanne. )
The bar was very long, dark and narrow, and I have just remembered it was in Scottsdale Arizona, not New York.
It was my first visit to the bar and shortly after I arrived, the only customer in there left saying goodbye to Roxy.
My ears *****ed up at hearing this name and I got chatting to her.
I was single at the time and we were getting on really well.
I was aware we were the only two people in the bar and I was seated fairly close to the entrance. There was only one entrance so no one could have got in from any other way.
We had been chatting for a good 20 minutes or so and I ordered another beer and they had run out of what I was drinking, I can't remember the brand at the time, so Roxanne had to go out the back to get some more in.
She had been gone a couple of minutes when all of a sudden, Chris Cross came on the juke box singing Arthur's theme.
It scarred the sh** out of me. I looked all round the bar to see who had put money in the juke box, but I knew there couldn't have been anyone as I was sat so close to the door, I would have heard ( or even seen the daylight stream in ) if someone had entered the bar.
What made it so strange was that at the time, that was one of my favorite records.
In 1984 it wasn't common for juke boxes in the UK to play random tracks so as to publicise the fact that there was a juke box on the premises. It was however, very common in the USA for this to happen. ( It IS now common in the UK, but not then ).
Anyway, Roxanne soon returned with more beers and asked what had happened as I was as white as a sheet. I told her what had happened and she just passed it off saying, oh , that juke box always plays to it's self.
We became very good friends after that and I spent many happy times with Roxanne, and not just in the bar, until my return to good old blighty.
Oh, what could have been.

But I am very happy now with my two little ( or not so little ) girls.

And on that happy thought, I'm off to bed.

Good night.
