Been into Asda this morning and they were adding the Blossom Hill Californian Red Grenache to their 3 for £10 offer (not showing online). This wine is very nice and is normally over £6 per bottle.

Also while I was talking to the young man loading these onto the shelves, he told me that the 3 for £10 offer was finishing in the next couple of weeks and would then become 3 for £12................

So, I stocked up! (would be rude not to really!)

Blossom Hill all tastes the same, no matter that varietal you buy - which is not a good thing.

I really don't see 3 for 10 vanishing, certainly not on the word of a shelf stacker in Asda.

Gonna vote this cold because it's not really a deal.

I never believe the original prices anyway on these 3 for £10 offers, Blossom Hill should never be a £6 + bottle !
Also if you search around in Asda you often find better value, today i got a Chilean Sauv. Blanc at £3.12 which is nice and some 25cl bottles of Chenin Blanc and Blossom Hill Chardonnal / Pinot Grigio for £1 each.

Where have you been? Asda 3 bottles for £10 deals have been a continuous feature in stores for the past couple of years and probably longer. Varieties and brands change but Blossom Hill, Lindermans and Angels Bay have been prominent so far this year. I agree with moob, not really a deal more a long-term marketing strategy - though a greatly appreciated one!

Agreed, the prices are generally inflated but it is still hard to find a drinkable bottle of wine at this price outwith the 3 for £10 deal.

Not sure about the 25cl bottles you mention, very few brands sell wine in 25cl bottles. The small bottles are generally 18.7cl.

Still a fairly decent deal but not spectacular, 3 for £10 is pretty much common place and there are far nicer wines IMO available in the offer.

Had me worried for a second but just checked and definitely 250ml bottles, Blossom Hill and a South African Chenin Blanc bottled for Asda.

Sorry, didn't mean to start any arguments!

Moob: I just thought I would pass on what I had heard about the deal increasing to £12, not vanishing. If you regularly spend £10 and know it is going to increase by 20% soon, then some people may want to take advantage.
Moob/Peggy: I don't know how reliable a "shelf stacker" is, but he seemed to know what was going on in his department. Some of the most educated professional people have worked in supermarkets to earn money whilst studying!
DaveT: I am fully aware these deals have been around for a long time but, as you say the varieties change, and this particular wine (one of the better ones (but only in my humble opinion)) was an addition today to the current selection.

Happy Weekend everyone!

Hey OP - was only poking a bit of fun - as I wouldn't take info from a source such as a lad possibly working part-time as being accurate for something like this - someone else mentioned that ASDA and the rest have been dojn the 3 for 10 for years - I doubt they are about to alter it anytime soon - I'd wager 3 for 12 just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Anyhoo, they'd sell feck all 3 for 12's if blossom hill was on it!

Peggy, I really resent this kind of implied judgement. I think its really unfair to suggest anything negative about a persons job, so long as they're making an honest living. This is especially so with so many people out of work right now.

I usually find this kind of superiorty complex in people who ironically fear being stupid themselves, and are usually the ones who then try and prove themselves in a sort of over-compensation defense mechanism. Sort your own insecurities out before bashing others.
