Unless you run a hotdog stand do you really need that many

You use a fair few in indian cooking, I was amazed how many when I made an Indian base sauce for the 1st time. Beats anything in a jar for sure.

I think you'll find that ogres are like onions, they may not necessarily like them to eat....!

What's the best way to store onions? Cool dark cupboard?
#14
Bought 10 bags last time this was on offer - am running low now so this has come at just the right time for me!. Time to stock up again. Voted hot - thanks op.

I picked some of the big banana cardboard boxes from Asda. I then opened each bag of onions and emptied into the box, so they were loose. They were stored in the Garage, it is cool there. And honestly the onions have been just fine. I think the cool weather helps.

Are you an undercover British Airman disguised as a French Onion Seller in the middle of World War Two France??

How on earth could you need so many?!

an onion a day keeps the girls away!

I've had this deal before. Onions last well when kept cool and we get through a good 10-12 per week.
#19
Heat added --got the 5kg bag when they were last on offer (must be 3 months ago whenever the full moon religious mania was in full swing) , just coming to the end of the supply .
Kept them in the garage where it has been very cool , good idea to keep in a cardboard box if you can.
If they are in plastic (like carrots) they go off very quickly.

Voting hot!!!!

What a timely helpful post o.p.

The family are off on a cycling holiday to France soon & we've never been before. None of us speak the language so we were all a bit concerned about how we'd be received by the locals. With a rustically strung onion 'necklace' we'll be indistinguishable from our hosts so we'll be welcomed everywhere we go I'm certain.
Magnifique!

Excellent. Useful for throwing. Lot's of throwing.
#22
i can vouch for it
bought sum few days ago
#23
do they not sell 10kg bags? we use in our cooking everyday ( essential for cooking currys).
#24
Some of the onion jokes on here bring tears to your eyes.
Besides, I prefer cakes

In India shortages of Onions can cause civil unrest. Can't imagine that in the UK though.

when you are 30p for 1 onion in some shops - this is a bargain!!
#33
Can't see what people are worried about - if half the bag goes off it's still cheap!
#34
I've bought these before (they are only £1.99 full price!), but my local's ones at £1 were barely bigger than plums! You got about 100 tiny little onions that would have taken me all day to peel the darn things. Hoping they get some slightly chunkier ones in while the deal is still on. Hot though, just unlucky here.
#35
Hot, but agree that the onions may be on the tiny side :/
#36
Dont let my parents hear that,

I can hear it in my ears
With that attitude ...........

Onion soup for starter, then onion curry with added onions for main, followed by an onion split for dessert. mmmmm.
#38
Free Delivery ?

I remember the last time these were on offer - I bought a bag and filled my housemates toilet with them. They loved the water...started growing roots and everything!

Never seem to have these in Abertawe :(
