What an uneducated idiot you are Breast may be best but some people can't for various reasons including poor supply , infections ,pain to name a few and also it's about a personal choice who the hell do you think you are criticising women for not breast feeding ! You must get so dizzy up there on your high horse !!! And for the record I breast fed both my girls but have seen my sister and cousins get extremely frustrated and hating themselves cause they can't produce enough etc and feel like failures ! Only to get criticised by some Moran with nothing better to do then make herself feel better by making others feel bad about themselves and their choices !!!!

Wow. You must feel so good about yourself. I tried bf, but my baby couldn't latch on, I tried for weeks and then expressed for 6 weeks to totally dry up with supply. I have no choice but to formula feed and spent hours crying over the fact that people like you would judge me. And you know what. My boy is perfect even though he's on formula. You may have an extra tenner a week from using your breast but if your child turns out like you I feel sorry for it. At least I know mine will never judge others on their choices

Promoting the use of formula isn't allowed on some media and shouldn't be allowed on here. Ready for the 'I wasn't able to breastfeed' brigade but with the correct help 99% can breastfeed and there is NO DOUBT breast is best!

its people choice if they want to breastfeed or not i don't believe in 'breast is best' i have a happy healthy 3 year old who everyone always comments on and she didn't have one drop of breast milk. down to personal preference so saying formula shouldn't be promoted is like saying breast pumps shouldn't be promoted.

why is this thread turning into breast is best I couldn't give a flying monkeys what people's babies have! And yes some people physically can't. Sick and tired of breast feeding mums slating formula my baby is formula fed but I don't post little digs about breast feeding. Do what ever is best for your baby but don't make other people feel bad for their choice!!!

Again the ignorance and judgement around breastfeeding. Every mother and family is different and breastfeeding does not work out for everyone. We should be supporting mothers not shaming them. You don't have to breastfeed to be a great mum.

Just make sure you also pop into store on the last day of the event or next couple days after as my huge asda has always slashed prices to less than half the baby event price! I got boxes of 144 nappies for £6, stairgates £7.50 etc....

It's not allowed to be discounted by stores unless it is 'follow on milk' which the advertised product is. Do you know if they are including any bed guards please?

Erm, formula is legally not aloud to be promoted, so nothing like a comparison to a breast pump!! Breast milk is the best, it's human milk for human babies. No other being cross to another's milk. Why would manufacturers of formula try and imitate breast milk if they didn't even think breast was best?!
With this advert however, it's follow on milk (another money spinning idea from the formula companies), so.doesnt fall under the same rules. As for the " my baby is fine" argument, time for a different tune!!!

Do you really think we make milk from what we eat?! Sounds like a really reliable scientific paper you've been reading!!!!

Its stage 3 formula and they are allowed to promote as its follow on milk. Every mum has a right to feed there child the way they wish regardless if its breast or formula it is what works for mum and baby. As long as were feeding our babies that is what matters.

"What is best for your baby" I don't know how much more can be written supporting the need to breastfeed and not to give babies formula.
It's about lack of education and changing your needs to meet your 21st century lifestyle. The World Health Organisation recommends 2 years breastfeeding.
You cannot chemically recreate something naturally produced and expect the same level of nutrition and development of a child's immune system.
Even more worrying is formula at 1+. At 1+ you can have cow's milk and proper food. Why on earth would you need formula - only 1 of 2 reasons, putting the baby to sleep OR you're unable to provide the baby with the right nutrition - but that uncovers more worrying outcomes.

Why on earth do you need 'follow-on' milk at beyond 1? Give them chemicals over and above naturally produced cows milk and food?

Moran? Not sure who it is who is uneducated. I completely understand the fact the a very very small number for whatever reason cannot breastfeed. But that number is tiny.
I'm addressing the waves of people who don't even try or are worried it will impact their life too much and they might actually have to care for their child 24-hours a day.

Because men don't know about bringing up children? Only women are allowed to comment on breastfeeding? The usual "only the mum knows her baby".

None of your business how anyone feeds their child.

Formula is allowed to be advertised if it is follow on formula first stage milk is not allowed to be advertised on tv or other media sources. This is why only follow on is on the tv

I'm currently pregnant and at 38 I'm perfectly capable of making a decision on whether to breastfeed or not without opinions from someone who most likely has never born or breastfed a baby. Keep your opinions to yourself mate. Not wanted or needed. I presume you haven't got a qualification as a Dr or a midwife to even be able to say that everyone can breastfeed??? Ignorant, opinionated ****.

That's not always true. The NHS don't currently test mother's for any nutritional deficiencies other than iron. Many women are deficient in vitamins such as d3 and b vitamins, minerals such as magnesium and many other important ones. So yea her milk is lacking essential nutrients. Ones which effect how the babies skeleton, develops and also the brain in regards to learning difficulties. So be careful with the breast is best argument. My first born was formula fed and he didn't struggle at all. My second born was breast fed and we had a host of defficiencies! Formula is well balanced, so do your research before attacking the formula feeding mum's for defending themselves.

wow can you seriously get off your high horse. i couldnt breastfeed and i desperately wanted. one i couldnt get comfortable since I was cut front to back. two i didnt produce jack **** milk until a week after my girl was born. take your opinions and stick them straight up your ****. formula, or breast long as the child is healthy that's all that matters. cant stand people like you who make mothers feel inadequate because they didnt breastfeed.
