Just been to ASDA, they have 500g Beef mince for £1, that's £2 a kilo (duh).

This is actually cheaper than smartprice!!

It's a rollback which I assume means it's for good...?

Anyway, it's normally 4.40 a kilo so for someone like me who likes it lots, this is a chuffing deal!!

All they've done is rolled it back a little bit, for the money that they have taken off of this it will be added onto other items in store to everyday essentials like bread, milk, butter etc.

Asda will see this as a good deal to reduce there meats, doesnt mean the quality is any less than it usually is, if someone goes in for mince/chicken or whatever is on special that day they are more than likely going to pick up more items or see more special deals so in a way Asda will probably make more on this than they would if it was at its original price.

great offer for us that cant afford organic and would rather make r kids something like stew with lots of veg or bolognese than give them chicken nuggets and chips with tinned beans, so i am sorry but this is a good offer and why do people have to comment if they dont like the offer.:x

is this lean mince?

Hubby is in Asda just now and I asked him to get this and the cadburys treat bags while he was there. So far he has phoned twice from his mobile about the type of mince. Dread to think when he gets to the confectionery aisle!!!!!! Dont think this is gonna be a good deal for me by the time we count the mobile call costs. lol

Cuz they can't help themselves. lol.

I use a pack or two of this a week for either lasagne, chilli or a stew. like you say, better than carpy tinned stuff or mcdonalds.

Daughter has just come in with the £1 mince price reduced to 34p!!!!!!!! She said they had loads at Asda Robroyston. Well I suppose that makes up for the phone calls. lol

apparently it's 'typically less than 20% fat. So really you're getting 400g for a quid. Which still isn't bad...

I very much doubt it, could be wrong tho':-D Easy enough to drain the fat off once you've browned it though.

how do you drain off all the gristle though if its not lean mince?
