Just before it reaches a record high again - phew!

Here’s some good news for hard-pressed motorists – we’re cutting the price of fuel by up to 3p per litre.

From tomorrow (Tuesday September 25) drivers filling up at any of our 203 forecourts across the country will pay no more than 135.7p per litre for unleaded and 139.7p per litre for diesel.

We’re passing on a reduction in the wholesale price of fuel as part of our commitment to everyday low prices – no coupons, no gimmicks!

And do you know why the government need all that revenue? Because of the state Labour left the country in when they were voted out after a decade or so.I'm sure Labour are pleased that the average voter has the attention span of a goldfish.

You have no idea what you are talking about, are you seriously suggesting that the problems with the worlds economy is all down to the last Labour government? - grow up!

Oh seriously, expletive off Asda and your oh-so caring attitude. Remember when we'd never pay more than 127.7p a few months ago? Don't pretend you're doing us any favours. And I despair at the mugs voting this hot.

Woooo 3p, i'll book my holiday for next year!

These greedy oil suppliers, refiners etc should be knocking at least 10p per litre off given recent crude oil price decreases.

Thanks, I'll get off my soapbox now :)

Thank God for that,it seems to have been going up 1p a litre a day recently.

Coming up the M1 last Sunday we called at the services(not for fuel) and noticed diesel was £1.54.9 a litre.oO

Asda fuel is crap though tbh, you'd be better off spending that extra few pence on the likes of Shell Fuel Saver petrol/diesel - false economy buying the cheap stuff, you get less mileage from a tank.

They're going to allow me to pay more than I did a month ago - HOT DEAL!

Not voting either way on this, to be honest it has creeped up steadily in the last month or so and ASDA have kept it to themselves, so not exactly a big saving is it?
[helper] 4 Likes #13
Exactly - have you seen them moaning about the prices, demanding action? No, it's just gone up and up until they decide it's time for some more publicity masquerading as charity.

COLD, prices hitting a low but not being passed onto the customer. petrol companies are fleecing us the consumer whilst enjoying record profits.

The only good thing to be said about Asda is that they are normally the 1st to cut their prices before the other supermarkets have to follow.

Why is it always a deal when the price goes down a few pence?
#18
Motorists are just a 'cash cow' for the Government,no matter how high the price goes
#19
Fuel duty would have gone up regardless of who went into power.

Secondly, if you can't afford to pay for fuel then you really shouldn't run a car.

Simple really :|

It is already 136.7 at our Asda, not a deal sorry..
#22
Awesome, just filled up today.

Dammit, I'd have saved myself about 65p on my £45 spend if only I'd waited until tomorrow to fill up.....

No wonder these fuel deals get so hot! ;)
#24
3p? People care about 3p? Could only save a couple of quid on a full fill up.

Am i the only person who doesn't go out there way for cheap petrol? I just fill up at whatever garage is closest when I think "Oh, im low on petrol"
[helper]#25
I always think "If £3.50 on a tank of petrol makes that much of a difference to your budget, you really can't afford a car."
#26
I have found that the bog standard supermarket fuel is not good. I get much better mileage from the premium stuff

I laugh so hard when these fuel companies get fined billions for oil tanker spills. Greedy, greedy ****.
#28
135.7p for unleaded is cheap? :|
I've been paying 134.9 for unleaded from various local petrol stations.
Maybe I just live in a cheap petrol area (Staff's moorlands) :p

Have you forgotten about the worldwide boom for 10 years before 2007? When despite this, Labour increased taxes and massively increased spending? I think that they must have actually believed in their own 'no more boom and bust' BS - either that or they really didn't care.

I've got an esso and a shell right near the asda normally they price match so will fill up there.

AS for labour leaving the country in a right mess does anyone remember the note that labour numpty left saying we've spent all the money so good luck that had nothing to do with the world economy and all to do with labour spending and wasting it like there was no tomorrow.
Look at the control centres they built for the fire and emergency services were meant to share they all sit empty after costing £500m plus and still costing millions a year to keep empty

I agree with all of the posts on here, but Kudos to Asda for actually reducing it at all unlike the other retailers.

They don't need any incentive to charge ridiculous prices. I'm going to get ripped off anyway, at least I get a smile out of it. :)

Haha I saw that too, no idea, I blame Google :P

Of course 3p is not life changing money, we all know that. It's more of a heads up isn't it? Unfortunately it seems to come down a bit then go back up even more, all we can do is be savvy and buy it at the cheapest possible forecourt....

Expensive fuel, 20% VAT on whey protein, overpopulated, **** weather, expensive housing. There is literally no reason for me to be in this country anymore.
